The group discovered the location of the Core Reactor—a facility that could boost their powers. But it wasn’t without risk. The facility was heavily guarded by more Evolved Zombies, and Alex’s powers were reaching their limit. They had no choice but to go in.
Inside, the facility was a labyrinth of technology, and at its core stood a massive reactor powered by hundreds of crystals. But the machine was unstable. As Alex approached it, he felt the familiar hum of energy coursing through him. The pencil vibrated again, and he knew he had to make a decision.
“I can boost all of us,” Alex said. “But it will come at a cost. If we’re not careful, we’ll overload.”
Despite the risks, the group agreed, and Alex used the pencil to channel energy from the Core Reactor into himself and his companions. The power surged through them, unlocking new abilities and enhancements. But Alex felt a darkness creeping at the edge of his mind, like the pencil was trying to take control.
