"DO YOU THINK SHE HATES ME?"

Minho was a little taken aback by the boy's question.

"I don't think she's capable of doing that," he answered whole-heartedly. Dion was an angry girl but he doesn't think she could ever use the word hate against another human being.

Despite the Runner's answer, Newt continued, "When I said those things, you know. It hasn't left my mind since. I felt so horrible. Then I asked Nick, he said that she couldn't possibly hate me. I didn't believe him though, so I just figured that she hates my guts. I mean, all this time she's tried to help I've been ignoring her."

Minho was quiet for a moment, thinking of what's best to say — this wasn't exactly his area of experties — "I mean, it's been a while now," he started, hesitantly moving his eyes to look at his friend instead of the ground, "She's probably over it by now."

"This is Dion we're talking about. She's the only person I know who have ever successfully hold a grudge against someone." he sighed, glancing back to the ground.

Minho couldn't help but laugh, "Remember when Ben accidentally walked in on her?"

Seeing the smile that crept up his friend's face eased Minho a bit. "That was an interesting week. I remember being so grateful it wasn't me."

The two boys simply laughed at their friend's misfortune, almost forgetting the main topic as to why Newt even came over in the first place.

Exhaling, Minho turn to look at his friend again, "Look, you're right; Dion does hold grudges like no one else does, but you know damn well she's also understanding. I mean, no offense, but I don't think I'll be able to understand you, I try but I'll never fully get it. But Dee? I'm sure she'll understand better. Just talk to her, okay? As much as she could be mad at you right now, nothing's gonna change unless you talk to her. She will listen, whatever it is, I'm sure you two would figure it out."

Minho himself was shocked at everything that just came out of his mouth. He's wise as hell. He thought to himself, smiling almost smugly.

What a turd. (Affectionate)

They both sat in silence for a few seconds until Minho dropped both his hands on his thighs.

"Alright. This is getting way too serious, I haven't made a single joke in a minute, it's freaking me out. Come on, let's enjoy the rest of the night for now." Minho stood up while patting his friend's shoulder.

Minho went over to where the Gladers were currently getting their ass handed to them by Gally and motioned for the blonde boy to join him to watch the next fight.

He smiled and walked over to Minho.

His left leg was falling behind due to the injury, sure it might need some time getting used to but he was lucky enough to have his all friends with him during his darkest days.

Well, almost all of his friends.

NEWT KEPT REPLAYING THAT CONVERSATION in his head ever since it happened the night before.

He hesitated around the the Slammer's makeshift gates going back and forth recalling if this was such a great idea.

Before he can run away, a voice stopped him.

"I know you're there."

He winced.

When he turned around Dion was already standing from inside the pit with her hands on the bars, her brown eyes already burning into him from between the bars.
