"Muzan-sama has tasked me to train you," Kokushibo uttered after (Y/N) took his hand and allowed herself to be helped up, then taking his hand away to let it drop back by his side once more. "I did think it ludicrous, as he had never put forth such a demand as this. However, like I stated before... you do have a certain strength. An untainted power lies within you, and I'm certain Muzan-sama has seen it before to have me train you."

(Y/N) lowered her gaze.

Kokushibo watched her, knowing she was hesitant due to her desire to find her brother.

"What is your name?" Kokushibo then asked, snapping (Y/N) from whatever thoughts she might have been having in that moment.

"(Y/N)," she answered in a soft whisper.

"(Y/N)..." he spoke in a baritone manner that seemed to resound loudly throughout the Fortress. "You are here to serve Muzan-sama, as all demons are to do. You should think of nothing else but that. Now that he has given you a task, you must complete it or die trying. That is the only route he will ever accept. I suggest whatever thoughts you have about finding your brother be buried until you can no longer see it."

(Y/N) inhaled sharply at that.

What Kokushibo was suggesting was an impossibility for her, one she refused to acknowledge or even try.

She looked away.

Kokushibo exhaled deeply.

"It seems... that your connection with this brother of yours is much deeper than can be buried," he finally uttered once more, watching with those six of his how her head turned slightly. "If that is the case, then become stronger for him."

Fully turning her head back so she could gaze into Kokushibo's middle pair of eyes, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel her body sag in despair. The way he spoke made it evident that she had no choice in the matter of having to fight, as it was Muzan's will. In that moment, she knew that no matter how desperately she wished not to engage in this battle between humans and demons, she would be thrust into the middle whether she liked it or not, and those on both sides would force her to choose.

She had to pick a side, one or the other even if the only side she wanted was to be at her brother's.

"Very well," (Y/N) then murmured, deciding that if there was truly no other choice, she would train to fight as Muzan wanted—if at least for the chance that if she did, she would be granted freedom to the outside. "I will do so, Kokushibo-dono."
