In the weeks that followed since Muzan revealed the truth about Kenji to her, (Y/N) felt as if her mind was breaking. Her heart turned frigid and her eyes turned glassy—merely like she were a machine rather than human, or, demon. In hindsight, to Muzan, it was perfect, for she was now a someone whom he could mold to his exact preferences.

It was what he was doing now.

Currently, (Y/N) kneeled before him, emotionless, as he sat within his velvet chair, his legs crossed and a map within his hands used for his current objective of finding Nezuko. Nakime was also on the same platform, albeit sitting a few more feet away due to the fact that she was assigned a task: finding each Demon Slayer within the Corps. She did so due to how he had given her a plethora of his blood with her promotion as the new Upper Rank Four. Now, the length of her hair had extended tremendously to root amongst the walls of the Infinity Fortress like vines, her bangs also parted to showcase a singular, large pink eye engraved with the kanji for her rank.

She strummed her Biwa, and each time she did so, her vision through her detached eyeball familiars changed, allowing her to spy on whomever she so wished to.

Currently, one was a Demon Slayer.

"I have found one more," Nakime announced in a reserved and overly genteel manner. "Therefore, I have now located around 60% of those Demon Slayers. However, I have yet to find the girl who's conquered the sun."

"Nakime," Muzan hummed, a pleased smile curving his lips upward. "You've grown even more than I ever imagined. How splendid."

"I am honored to hear that."

"Are you seeing this, (Y/N)?" He continued, casting his gaze down to her almost in a derogatory manner, yet with something far more sinister highlighted in his blood-red eyes. "As I've always known, I will be able to conquer the sun and kill these Demon Slayers whom have unfortunately plagued me for centuries. This is a turning point in the war, one which you will witness firsthand."

"I never wanted to," (Y/N) murmured softly, keeping her eyes lowered.

She felt numb.

Yet, all the same, she didn't want this.

She didn't want them to die.

But who was she to stop the King of all demons?
