When opening her eyes, the first thing that (Y/N) noticed was the wooden ceiling that she was gazing up at, the next being that she was tucked into a futon quite comfortably. Pushing herself up, feeling a throbbing at the base of her eyes and skull, she inhaled sharply when everything came rushing back to her.
I killed Gyokko.
And then Douma... took me back.
Fumbling over her feet, she stood to find herself in an elaborate garden room with her at the center. The bubbling of a stream soon grabbed her attention quickly, and she walked towards it to look at her reflection, shakily tracing the corners of her eyes upon sight of the new kanji engraved into her pupils. Now, the promise that Muzan had made with her was fulfilled.
Yet, she never wanted that.
No...
No!
Breathing heavily, feeling as if she were about to hyperventilate, (Y/N) then paused when a sudden thought glanced through her mind.
Should I gouge out my eyes?
Would that work?
Just as she raised her hands to her face, determination coursing like fire through her veins that burned to a searing degree, she halted when the clinking of glass and wood alerted her to another presence in the room. Straightening up, she cautiously crept forward, keeping low to the ground upon finding the entrance to a clearing where Muzan stood at a desk filled with a variety of glass beakers, vials, and tubes filled with strangely colored liquids.
"So you're awake," Muzan commented without looking up from the book he was writing in.
She flinched.
"Gouging out your eyes wouldn't have worked," he then continued, his pen swiping fluidly over the pages. "It would have just been a foolish move that made you bleed."
She exhaled shakily.
He... can read my mind again.
"Correct," Muzan hummed, closing the book and finally turning his gaze towards her, his eyes an even bloodier red under the dim yellow lights of the room—almost to point they were glowing. "So much of my blood has been transferred into your veins, and you were strong enough to take it, albeit after fainting. You should be grateful. I do not give such rewards so easily."
She shuddered, unnerved by the thought, especially since only a few weeks ago she had been able to rid herself of said ailment by seeking treatment from Tamayo.
