Skylar's P.O.V.

After Jacob's bones were finally rebroken and set, Billy looked broken I sigh as Bella runs into the house asking where  Jake was before rushing into his room as Carlisle stepped out "it's done I've given him some pain relief but with his high temperature his going to wear it off pretty soon.. if you don't mind I'd like to come back in the morning make sure they're resting properly and give him more pain relief" Billy nods quickly "Thank you" he said softly Carlisle nods excusing himself looking at me with a smile "we can watch Nikita tonight, you rest" I  nod "thanks Carlisle I'll be there in the morning" he smiled "Esme will make breakfast, Goodnight" he steps out and Sam stood in the middle of the group, his voice firm yet tinged with warmth.

"Take tomorrow off, all of you," he said, glancing at each of them. "Spend it with your families. Rest."

Grins broke out among the pack, a mixture of relief and gratitude. Paul stretched, letting out a loud groan as he walked over to me.

"I'm dead, Sky," he said dramatically, dragging his feet like a child. "Are you coming home tonight, or are you ditching me for the Alpha again?"

I laughed softly, my gaze shifting to Sam, who was deep in conversation with Billy. Looking back at my little brother, I ruffled his hair affectionately. "I'm going to Sam's tonight," I said. "But I'll be home in the morning with Niki. Okay?" He wriggles his eyebrows "you gonna go look after your man?"  I look at him in disgust "ew okay no we are not discussing this together" he laughs, the tiredness in his eyes softening as he nodded. "See you tomorrow, then..." he smirks cheekily "use protection" As he walked away, I felt a familiar warmth wrap around my waist. Sam's arm slid across me, pulling me close as he leaned in, pressing soft kisses to my temple and neck.

"Let's go home," he murmured, his voice low and filled with weariness. "I'm tired, and I just want to be alone with my favorite person in the world." I scoffed, laughing softly as I leaned into his touch. "You're so cheesy."

Sam grinned, unbothered by my teasing, and pressed a quick kiss to my lips. Turning his attention to the others Embry, Seth, Leah, Sue, Billy, and Quil he nodded. "Get home, everyone," he said and With that, he gently guided me toward the car, his hand never leaving mine. As we walked, the tension of the day began to melt away, leaving only the comfort of his presence and the promise of peace for the night ahead.

After showering together and ordering pizza, Sam and I curled up on his couch, a faded blanket draped over us as we watched one of Adam Sandler's old comedies. The soft glow of the TV illuminated the room, but my attention wasn't on the movie it was on the warmth of Sam's arms wrapped around me, his steady heartbeat against my back.

"All I could think about on that field today was you," Sam said suddenly, his voice low and tender. I tilted my head slightly, catching the soft, reflective look in his eyes. "Your eyes," he continued, his tone filled with quiet admiration. "Your smile. The way you blush when I say something stupid. And the way you scrunch your nose slightly when you're laughing—like you're trying not to laugh too hard, but you can't help it."

His words made my chest tighten, a familiar warmth spreading through me "god you can't be real" I say more to myself than to him as I turned to face him, and he was already looking at me, his gaze steady and full of emotion.

"I love you so much, Skylar Lahote," he said, the words rolling off his tongue like a promise.
