The next morning, I wake up to a text from Finneas saying he has a free day and we could work on the song if I wanted to. A day away from Billie sounds great right now. I send him a text back saying I'm down to go over and work on it and that I'd let him know when I'm ready.
I look beside me and see Kelsey still sleeping so I quietly get up and go downstairs to get something to eat.
I turn the corner into the kitchen to see Maggie and Patrick in there along with of course, Billie.
"Good morning sweetheart!" Maggie greets me with a smile, making Billie turn around real fast. She looks guilty. Good.
"Good morning, Maggie and Patrick. How are you today?" I make a point not to say hi to Billie.
"We're great, how are you?" Patrick smiles at me.
"I'm great! Finneas actually invited me over to work on the song so I'm very excited about that"
I make a bowl of cereal and sit down at the table with them. We continue talking while we all eat our breakfast. Maggie really is a saint. She had Kelsey and I write down a list of foods we like so she can make sure they are in the house, considering they're vegan and we aren't, so we are able to just help ourselves in the kitchen.
"Abby, I can give you a ride over to Finn's house if you want. I'm heading out anyway" Billie looks at me with hopeful eyes.
"No, it's okay. Finneas is going to pick me up. Thanks for the offer though" I send a fake smile her way making her sigh.
"Everything okay with you two? I'm noticing a little tension" Patrick looks at us.
Billie and I look at each other before she clears her throat and looks away.
"Yeah, everything's fine. I'm gonna go up and get ready" She washes her plate and goes upstairs to her room.
"So, Abby, how is the song coming along?" Maggie asks.
"It's going great! I really do think everyone is gonna love it. I'm so excited for you guys to hear it" I smile. I still can't believe Finneas gave me this opportunity. My dreams might actually come true from just this song.
Okay Abby let's not get our hopes up.
"Well, we are certainly very excited to hear it!" Patrick says making me smile at them both.
"I'm actually going to get ready for the day. Kelsey should be down soon. She usually sleeps till around 12 so it's normal for her to be sleeping right about now haha" I wash my bowl and spoon and head upstairs.
As I get to mine and Kelsey's room, I hear music coming from Billie's. It's one of her songs. I sigh and go to get ready to go.

"Okay, I added some drums into the second chorus and a little more guitar. How does this sound?"
Finn plays the track, and we listen. It sounds so good!
It ends and I just stare at the computer in awe.
"I love it!"
"Yeah?!"
"Yes! Oh my god everyone is going to love it!"
We continue working for another couple hours until Claudia comes by with some food for us.
"Oh my god you are the best Claudia!"
"Seriously babe, the best!"
"I know I am" She smiles.
As we eat, we hear someone else walking down the steps. We all look over at the stairs and see Billie.
One day. I just need one day. Which is a difficult thing to ask for considering, I'm literally staying at her house and I'm currently at her brother's house working with him.
"Hey Bil!" Finneas says with a mouth full of food.
"Hey man! It's been a couple days, and we finished early so I decided to stop in"
"How'd it go?" he asks before taking another bite.
"Wait till you see them! I'm so excited!" She says as she takes some of Finn's food.
"Hey! Get your own!" He moves it away from her.
"How'd what go?" I ask Finneas.
"Fitting and outfit choosing for the European leg of the tour" he says making me nod.
Billie sits down on the couch next to Claudia and looks at me before looking back at Finneas.
"How's the song coming along?"
"Awesome! We did some vocals and worked on the music a bit. Here, listen!" He plays what we have so far of the song.
"That sounds great! This song is gonna be huge I know it!"
We all hangout for a bit before Finneas and I decide to call it a day. It's around 5:30 and I have yet to hang out with Kelsey today. She's probably bored out of her mind without me.
"Finn, do you mind giving me a ride back?"
"Isn't Billie going there too?" He looks at us confused.
"I can give you a ride Abby, I mean I'm going home anyway" She looks at me.
I nod and we say our goodbyes and head out.
The car ride is quiet. Too quiet. I can tell she wants to talk but I don't want to, so I just look out the window or go on my phone.
We pull into the driveway and as I'm about to open the passenger door, she puts her hand on my thigh to stop me.
I move my leg to get her hand off of me and get out of the car. Until I have something to say and until I calm down a bit and I'm not as mad, I don't want to talk.
I walk into the house and see Kelsey in the living room watching TV, so I sit down beside her.
"Hey! How did it go?"
"Good! We got a lot done" I smile and lay my head on her shoulder. "I wish you came with me. But your ass sleeps in so late!"
Billie walks into the house, sees us and goes upstairs.
"Have you guys talked yet?"
I shake my head.
"You don't have to if you don't want to yet. Only when you're ready" She hugs me.
