"I can't believe that happened, I'm so sorry Ab. I know how much you liked her, as a fan and more" My mom gives me a sad look. I shrug. "Yeah, it's disappointing but all I can do now is move on. I'll always support her, music wise, but I don't know if things will be the same between us again. I did what I could, you know, I tried to talk to her and clearly that didn't work out so all I can do now is move on with my life. I mean the song is being released next month, people are finally gonna know who I am and hear my music. I have to start focusing on that now. I have other things to worry about than I relationship" 

She gives me a look. "You know, it's okay if it hurts. It's okay to let it affect you" 

"It does hurt. A lot. But I'm trying not to let it affect me like it did when he hurt me. It took me so long to move on and heal from what happened with him. I can't let someone else come in and ruin that" 

"I get that, and I'm proud of you for getting through everything he did. I'm also proud of you for handling this in a mature way instead of letting it bring you down too much" She hugs me, and we sit there for a while in silence. 

"Wanna order food? I'm starving and to be completely honest with you, I don't want to cook tonight" she says making me laugh and pull away from her. 

"Taco bell?" I suggest. 

"Yes! Want your usual?" 

"Of course," I reply, and she goes into her phone to order the food.

It's been a week since Kelsey, and I got home and everything has gone back to normal. I'm currently at her place but the past week we've just seen each other at work since she's been spending time with Sean, and I've been trying to write more. Shocker I know. Ever since working on the song with Finneas, I've just been in the mood to write more. It's also been helping a lot with getting my feelings out about Billie and the whole situation. 

"Have you talked to Finneas about the release of the song? Are we doing anything to celebrate? Also, you never told me when you're releasing it!" She looks across the living room at me. We're currently watching Pitch Perfect, One of our favorite movies. 

"Actuallyyy there's something I've been meaning to tell you" I smirk. 

"Oh god, what is it?" She pauses the movie, giving me her full attention. 

"Finneas and I decided we're going to release the song on your birthday" I look up and smile when I see a shocked expression on her face. 

"My birthday?" I nod. 

"My birthday as in the day that's literally in like 2 weeks?!" She jumps up. 

I nod again, my smile getting bigger along with hers. 

"AHHHH!" She runs with excitement and jumps onto me, hugging me. "Oh my god! The best fucking birthday present of all fucking time!" She screams making me laugh and hug her back. 

"We're also having a birthday party slash release party the night before, so at midnight we can sing happy birthday to you and then play the song" 

"Oh my god that's so awesome! I love you so much and I'm so proud of you!" She climbs off of me and sits beside me. 

"It was gonna be a surprise, but I couldn't keep it to myself any longer" I laugh. 

"Well, I'm glad you told me because you're a terrible liar and you probably wouldn't have been able come up with something good to tell me when I just asked" I agree with her, and we continue watching the movie.
