Chapter 14

I rolled over into my pillows with a groan. After a heated make out sesh with Oliver on Thursday and a platonic movie night with Chris at his house later that night I am dreading going on this stupid date tonight. I had begrudgingly told my parents about not being able to do the dinner party tonight. This caused them both to interrogate me for a whole hour before I finally gave in and told them I was going on a date with Parker. The looks on their faces when I finally blurted it out was priceless.

My mom had followed me to my room after, explaining how condoms work and that it is about time that we get me on birth control just incase. I made sure to slam the door on her before she could make it into my room and locked the door. I've been rolling around and groaning in embarrassment since then. I grab my phone to check the time. I still have four more hours before my date. I decide that I need to actually tell Ruby about this development so she's not confused when I'm not at dinner.

Avery gal : won't be at dinner tonite

Ragdoll Ruby : wdym??? U ok?

Avery gal : I'm fine! Just gonna be going out.

Ragdoll Ruby : with who???? Chris?

Avery gal : a friend. Anyways I'll explain later. Have fun at dinner tho!

Ragdoll Ruby : -.- just know you will be interrogated later

Avery gal : I know!!! Love you

Ragdoll Ruby : love you too. Have fun on your date ;)

Reading Ruby's last text made me immediately blush like crazy and throw my phone across the room. I smashed my face back into my pillows. I regret texting her. I know she's just messing with me and doesn't actually know I'm going on a date but the fact that she guessed so easily has me flustered. I hear a ping from my phone come from across the room. I groan before getting up to go grab it. Once I turn it around, I see it is safe and undamaged filling me with relief until I see the text.

Unknown : don't get too dolled up for tonight otherwise I might not be able to keep my hands off you ;)

A blush spreads across my face as I read the text. Oh my god.

Avery gal : how did you get my number Parker?

There's a long pause which I'm not expecting. Almost 5 minutes past before my phone pings again. I stare at my phone wishing the world would open up and swallow me whole.

Unknown : not Parker.

Holy Jesus. Who is this? Who has the possibility tonight to see me that I don't have their number. And that would text me like this?

Oh. My. God.

Avery gal : Chris?

Unknown : that's my name. Wanna explain why Parker would be texting you like that?

I think I'm dying. I cannot believe I am experiencing this right now.

Avery gal : it's just his personality. He's just playing around tho.

Chris : ok...well I'm guessing he's coming to your family's dinner party tonight too then?

Avery gal : I actually won't be there.

There's another long pause that makes my skin itch. I hate this conversation.

Chris : oh ok.

God I don't even know how to proceed with this conversation. I need to escape this now.

Avery gal : my mom is making lasagna I think so let me know how it goes!
