"Hello boys,"Ruby cooed as she opened her front door to reveal Luke and Chris standing on the porch.
"What's up?"Luke replied.
"Hey,"Chris said waving.
It had been three days since Ruby had suggested for this double date. I spent all three of them stressed and rummaging through my clothes for something decent to wear. I wanted something that was cute but not adorable, while also something that looked hot but not sexy. Who was I kidding. I had no clue what I wanted to wear. I had never been on a date before.
I had called Ruby at least twenty times over to discuss outfit ideas while I changed between them. I eventually settled on a fitted caramel shirt, white jeans and tan short boots. I had come over to Ruby's early for her to put my hair in loose curls for me.
She tried to put make up on my face but I refused to let that happen. She bargained and got to put some mascara and light pink lipstick on me. I threatened pillow throwing when I saw her grab foundation and highlighter.
"Hi,"I said shyly with a small wave as Chris and Luke looked me up and down.
They had already given Ruby the up and down upon her opening the door for them. She had her hair up in a bun and had her makeup all done with cherry red lipstick to 'seal the deal' she said. Whatever that meant. She was wearing a black lacey tank top with a v-line, blue jeans, and black wedges.
She looked so much better than me right now and yet. Chris eyes didn't leave me. I felt my face heat up at the extended eye contact.
Suddenly it was interrupted by someone clearing their throat behind us,"be back by 10."
"Yes Mr. Night,"Chris answered quickly.
"Drive safe,"he replied before disappearing back into the living room.
A sigh of relief escaped Luke's lips which caused mine to curl up into a smile,"you know he's not either of our dad's right?"
"Oh I'm still getting you guys back by ten."
Me and Ruby giggled at his serious tone before grabbing our purses and heading out the door. Oliver had seen us passing by his room all dolled up and was very confused. I could still feel his eyes on the back of my head from the top of the stairs.
At the last second I turned around and gave him a smile before the door shut. I think I saw a glint in his eyes of something I hadn't seen before. I brushed it off as I followed everyone to Luke's black Jeep.
Me and Chris sat in the back while Ruby sat in the passenger seat next to Luke. The second he turned the car on Ruby was fiddling with the radio.
"I have an aux you know?"Luke suggested.
"Oh say less!"Ruby grinned as she grabbed his phone and sifted through his playlist.
As she searched she randomly called out random song names to him, intrigued by his song selections. Finally after some bickering she clicked on one. 'Come Get Her' by Rae Sremmurd came on and I immediately felt my face turn beat red.
"Oh please god no,"I mumbled as I brought my hands to my face.
"Oh god yes!"she yelled out, now turning the volume up.
She giggled as the song was starting before singing along to the music. She began to bop her head to the music and grabbed an empty water bottle from the cup holder to use it as a microphone. Luke was cackling as he started singing with her.
I peaked through my fingers to look at Chris. He was sitting there silently for a while but then Ruby was enticing him to join in and of course he gave in. Next thing I know all three of them are jamming out to the song on full blast.
