It has been two weeks since the party at Parker's house. I found out in the car on the way home that the reason we left was because Luke was getting tired of the hazing. Even sophomores were hazing him. Which I don't blame him for getting pissed over. I decided to go home that night not wanting to run into Oliver again later in the night or in the morning when heading back home.
The weekend went by uneventfully, as well as the last two weeks. Oliver never once bringing up our kiss and I was too nervous to bring it up yet. I hadn't been alone with Chris either not wanting to be flip flopping between kissing both him and Oliver. I needed to figure things out before I kissed anyone again. Especially because within a week I had kissed three boys. Thankfully I hadn't had any more boys hitting on me either which gave me some peace.
"Hey Katherine," I turned around to find Chris, textbook in hand, "It's been a minute."
"Oh hey, get into anymore fights?" I asked with a small laugh.
"I don't know, anymore guys hitting on you?" he asked with a sly grin.
My mind immediately going to the party but deciding to not fuel any fires, "Nope."
His smile grew slightly, "Good. Want to hang out after school then?"
I bit my lip to think about it, "I don't know."
"It can be platonic. I just want to get to know you more," he said reassuring me.
"Ok," I said, "I have to give Oliver and Ruby a ride home but we can hang out after?"
He nodded, "You always give them rides?"
"Yeah," I said with a nod back, "Ruby doesn't have a car herself and Oliver has one but since we live right next to each other and I'm already giving Ruby a ride he joins us."
"Interesting," he said with a strange look in his eye.
I saw that once before now when he saw me and Oliver on the phone that one night. I still can't place my finger on what it is though. What emotion is mulling around in his eyes.
"I'll see you then," he said giving me a small smile before walking away down the hallway.
I walked in a different direction to head to my class bumping into someone as I rounded the corner,"I'm sorry I wasn't-"
"There you are Kat,"Oliver smiled down at me, "still clumsy as ever I see."
I bit my lip nervously realizing the last time we were this close we had kissed. I pressed my hands on his chest to push myself way from him but stopped when his hands grabbed my hips.
"Can we talk?"he asked.
"Mhm," was all I was able to manage before he grabbed my hand and dragged me into an empty classroom locking it behind us.
"Is there a reason you've been avoiding me?"he asked rubbing the back of his neck.
"Wh-what?"I stuttered out confused, "when have I avoided you?"
"You have been avoiding making eye contact with me since the party. Like you couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me! Won't even talk to me!"he started raising his voice.
I gave him a confused look. I don't recall going out of my way to not look at him. I mean I had been looking away from blushing because every time I looked at him all that I could think of was our drunken kiss, my drunken kiss. I was drunk. Not him.
"Hello?"he said pulling me from my thoughts.
"I'm sorry. I didn't realize..."I trailed off looking to the ground, I don't even know how to talk to him anymore.
