chapter four |

"Do you have any idea who this could be?" Andrea asked while reading the texts from the unknown number. "I honestly have no idea." I sighed, I watched as my two best friends studied my phone screen attentively.

"It's probably some prank." Casey shrugged. That's what I had thought.

"Maybe but it's like I'm being spied on. Like for example when I broke up with Jax last night it sent this."

"Oh nah." Andrea said while scrolling through the text messages.

"Your phone has to be hacked or someone's following you." Casey questioned.

"Obviously." I huffed, I was worried out of my mind. I had a weird feeling that I was just being pranked. But once again, by who?

I felt so uncomfortable driving home that day.

I sighed while falling lazily on my bed. After that text I got before fourth period, I knew something was up. I had to tell someone, someone as in Casey and Andrea.

"Don't tell Jax, not even the boys, okay?" I said, in a serious tone. They both nodded reassuringly. You could tell how nervous they were for me, just by watching their expressions.

If Jax found out he would've just gotten jealous & start questioning every guy in our school.

Yep, that's how protective he was.

She walked slowly down the sidewalk with a dejected look on her face. It looked like something was eating away at her conscious. I didn't understand why she was outside so late. Again. I thought she had learned her lesson.

It was past midnight and she was walking around a park that was in her neighborhood. I knew she wasn't happy, I wondered if my text messages where scaring her. If only she had me, she'd be safe from everything—and everyone. She would never be sad or alone. If Jax was a good "boyfriend" he wouldn't let another man text his girl's phone like the way I was.

I watched as she sat on the bench, placing her cold hands inside her hoodie pockets. Moments later her phone started flashing, signaling someone sent her a text message. Is she meeting someone?

I saw a figure walking up to her and I realized it was him. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel as I watched him walk up to her. I didn't know what she saw in him. He didn't even love her, he couldn't even love her like I could.

I can buy her everything she ever wanted, I can give her the love and affection she needs.

"What do you want?" She asked him, while shrugging his hands off of her. That's my girl.

"To go to prom with me." He said.

What the fuck?

I almost choked on my spit once the words left his mouth. That was his priority. If he had touched her one more time, I was going to have to hop out of my truck.

"It's over."  She said. Why does she look sad when saying that. Does she really love him? No, she can't. Does she not want to break up with him? I was jealous.

I watched his horrible attempts to hug her, I was glad she was dodging them. I didn't want him to touch her or look at her. Let alone be around her. My patience and tolerance were running immensely thin.

She was mine. Only mine.

As I was watching their encounter he started to become more aggressive, causing my anger & frustration to grow founder.

"Stop acting like that & just kiss me!" He argued, while gripping her wrists. I saw her struggling & fighting under his grasp. Without thinking I immediately hopped out of my truck, grabbing my gun from my dashboard.

I didn't know what was wrong with him.

He approached me with red eyes & he wasn't even able to stand up straight. He got himself drunk & possibly even high just so he could come to me, blame me for why he's acting like this, so I could run back to him.

I used to do that but not any more. I don't want to be with him anymore. I had to go through all this shit for 3 years now. I deserved to be with a guy who didn't treat me like shit.

I smelled vodka from his breath as soon as he sat next to me. I didn't know why he did this to himself.

"Let go your hurting me Jax." I whimpered, trying to pry his arms from my wrist. I heard someone running through the grass but I didn't pay too much attention neither did he. His hands eventually led to my neck and the next thing I knew his grasp was immediately removed. I opened my eyes and clutched my neck. Making sure that there wasn't any problems or sprained vessels. I heard noises of Jax groaning in pain and a fist colliding into a face. Everything happened so fast. I saw an unfamiliar figure on top of Jax, repeatedly punching him in the face. I was completely terrified I almost didn't know what to do.

"Don't you fucking touch her!" The man yelled. I was confused in that moment. I didn't even know who the guy was. All I saw was a beanie that concealed parts of his face. I decided to say something because I didn't want Jax to get hurt or potentially die. The guy just kept punching him extremely hard, over and over.

"Stop!" I yelled frantically, while pulling on the guy's upper arm. I was scared, I wasn't sure if he was going to beat me up too. His face snapped towards mine and his clenched fists fell by his side. I studied his face for a moment and he got up from off of him.

"Are you okay?" He asked soothingly. His whole demeanor changed. I studied his brown eyes cautiously. I couldn't help but stare for a while. The guy was tall & somewhat intriguing in his features. I nodded slightly.

I watched as Jax layed helplessly on the floor. He was clutching his stomach & was groaning out in pain. I hated seeing him like that even though he had hurt me moments ago. He deserved every single ounce of pain he was feeling, A part of me was saying he deserved it, while the other part felt some ounce of remorse for him.

I made an advancement towards him to check if he was okay, actually breathing properly but the unfamiliar guy held his hand out in front of me, stopping my sudden movements.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"Do you need a ride?"

He asked. What? I don't even know you? I didn't even know who the hell this guy was.
