Piltover Party

Vi stared into the mirror with discomfort on her face. Caitlyn stood behind her with a shit eating grin across her face. Vi looked up and down at the outfit she had been coerced into wearing. Her outfit for the party was black dress pants, black dress shoes, and a formal gray shirt with a white vest and a yellow tie over it.

"I think it looks really nice," Caitlyn complimented

Vi tugged at the collar and gave Caitlyn a pleading look. "Please don't make me wear this Cait..."

Caitlyn feigned shock and let out an over-exaggerated gasp. "I am not making you wear this! All I said was everyone else would be dressed formally. It wouldn't hurt you to dress up as well. Unless you want to stick out like a sore thumb?"

"I always stick out like a sore thumb, cupcake," Vi remarked.

"Are you ready to go or do you want to whine more about this beautiful outfit I got for you?"

"Hmmm...." Vi hummed in concentration.

"Oh my god, you are such a baby," Caitlyn complained.

Vi started laughing, but was quickly interrupted by Caitlyn pulling her into a kiss. Vi gasped from the sudden gesture but reciprocated soon after the shock settled. Caitlyn dug her body deeper into Vi as she quickened the pace. Vi matched Caitlyn's urgency for a moment before pulling away and smiling at her.

"Someones eager," Vi teased

"Sorry... had to get it out of my system before this event. We are going to be there for a while," Caitlyn explained

"No need to be sorry... it wasn't a complaint," Vi whispered as she leaned in closer.

"W-We unfortunately have to leave now... but I would love to see where this is going when we get back," Caitlyn confessed.

"Don't worry. You will," Vi insisted.

Caitlyn smiled and grabbed Vi's hand as she made her way towards the door.

...

Vi looked around at the variety of furniture set up for the event. Fancy chairs with fancy tables that had fancy tablecloths to match. After enough time away from Zaun, Vi felt pretty normal in Piltover. Although she had been in Piltover for long enough to be used to the people, walking in the party felt different for some reason. She had no desire to talk to any of these rich political loving oblivious pricks that ruined her city. Because of this, just like she said she would, Vi stuck to Caitlyn like glue and let her do all the talking.

Just like she assumed, the party was just a whole lot of talking to a variety of people, including some of the new councilors. There were lots of similar conversations about the efforts to prevent pollution in the undercity, and other political issues that Vi tuned out. All she cared about was the living conditions in the undercity getting better. She mentally clocked every mention of Zaun by these people. The way some of them talked about it made her... sick. Vi was one 'They really do seem to thrive in their filth with all that chem-tech' or 'Its hard to have sympathy for people who poisoned themselves with shimmer' away from going home.

Caitlyn would give her a glance every time something horribly offensive was said, and try her best to educate the uneducated. Vi felt a bit of herself break watching Caitlyn struggle to make these people understand.

There isn't any saving them from the delusions of the undercity their parents fed them as they sat in a fifty story penthouse. Save your breath, cupcake.

Eventually, Vi felt more of a nuisance than company to Caitlyn. She awkwardly tugged on her tie through their current conversation with councilwoman Shoola until eventually losing the will to hang around and tapping Caitlyn's hand.

"I'm gonna grab a drink, I'll be back," VI responded in a hushed tone.

Caitlyn nodded and redirected her attention back to councilwoman Shoola. Vi made her way over to the bar quickly and got straight to business.

"Just give me some of your strongest shit," Vi said to the bartender.

The bartender pulled out a glass from under the counter and pulled a bottle from the shelf behind him. Whatever it was, it looked good. He continued to craft this immaculate looking drink, and when he poured it into the glass, it was a gorgeous shade of red.

The bartender slid it over to Vi. She grabbed the masterpiece delicately, bringing it up to her lips and taking a sip. Just as good as she imagined. Suddenly, a voice came from behind her. Vi turned around quickly

"Who would have thought, me and you at a party in Piltover," Sevika chuckled as she took a seat.

"Yeah... Who would have thought," Vi repeated.

"Vi... I'm sorry about your sister," Sevika sighed.

"Thanks..." Vi stared off in the distance as she spoke.

"You still got those gauntlets around?" Sevika asked.

"I don't really mess with hextech anymore, but yeah, I have them," Vi responded.

"Hextech has been stable since Viktor and Jayce passed. We've sent people down there to check, everythings balanced as of now. We could really use Hextech to help both Piltover and Zaun. But more importantly, I think we could really use you," Sevika admitted.

"You sure you want me around?" Vi questioned.

Sevika turned to the bartender to quickly order her drink, before turning to give her attention back to Vi.

"We want the same things at the end of the day," Sevika pointed out. "And you always had heart. I think we are in a time where everyone needs to have a lot of that. For the first time in a long time, it looks like things are going to work out for Piltover and the Undercity."

"Yeah. I'm... glad they picked you, Sevika. I hope you can make the changes that the undercity needs," Vi expressed.

"I heard they wanted you for my position. Why didn't you take it?" Sevika wondered.

"I wasn't in the headspace to accept a position like that after Vander and Jinx- you know what happened," Vi cut herself off.

"Well, if you are ready now, it would be really nice to have you helping around up here," Sevika reaffirmed.

Vi contemplated for a moment. It seemed like Sevika had the best interests in mind for the undercity. It seemed like things were in good hands. She wanted to do her part as well.

"I think I would really like to help. Whenever you need me, you know where to find me?" Vi inquired.

"The word going around is wherever Caitlyn Kiramman is, you are. Including her bed," Sevika smirked.

"W-well, I'm staying with her, yeah," Vi stuttered.

"Hows that going?" Sevika persisted.

"Good... Really good..." Vi murmured.

"Hope you are happy, kid. You had it rough down there. And stop drinking by yourself, go talk to your girl," Sevika teased before getting up and walking away.

Vi stared at her drink for a moment before taking Sevika's advice and began to search for Caitlyn. The event wasn't too crowded, but from what Vi could see, Caitlyn wasn't in the building. Vi looked around and noticed a door leading outside.

"This girl and her balcony trips..." Vi mumbled.

Vi walked out onto the balcony and saw Caitlyn fiddling with her eyepatch.

"You alright?" Vi asked.

"I'm really starting to hate this..." Caitlyn revealed.

Vi approached her and began to help her adjust the eyepatch. "Let me... I got you," Vi whispered.

Caitlyn stared into Vi's eyes with a sincere expression as Vi adjusted the eyepatch the best she could. She tried to make it looser to ease some of the discomfort.

"Better?" Vi asked.

"Much... thank you, Vi," Caitlyn said in a hushed tone.

Vi smiled and pulled Caitlyn into a hug. Vi soaked in the warmth she felt embracing her lover. She felt so euphoric in Caitlyn's presence. Nothing else could get her to feel like this. She pulled away from the hug and rested her forehead on top of Caitlyns.

"Cait..." Vi hesitated

"Whats on your mind?" Caitlyn questioned.

"I love you," Vi declared.

Vi waited in anticipation as Caitlyn's eye flicked back and forth, seemingly analyzing Vi's expression. Her mouth slightly opened and she looked as if her heart was melting. Caitlyn quickly closed the distance to meet Vi with a kiss. Caitlyn then pulled away and looked at Vi. Her expression became guilty, and Vi grew worried.

"If you don't want to say anything yet, I-I understand," Vi commented.

Caitlyn looked at her for a moment and shook her head. She was angry at herself for not saying this sooner, but she was finally ready.

"Vi..."

Vi chuckled as Caitlyn struggled to find her words.

"You got this," Vi teased.

Caitlyn sighed before finally telling Vi the truth."I think your sister is alive."
