Caitlyn and Vi cried together over the remains of Orianna that fell from the sky. It wasn't much. Some gold slivers, a fragment of her finger, and about a quarter of her ball. Powder and Akali stood over Ekko making sure he was okay. Irelia stood over the remains of Swain. Sevika sat by herself tending to her wounds. People weren't feeling all that talkative.

Vi picked up the piece of Orianna's ball and held it against her chest.

"I was... wrong," Vi sobbed.

"What?" Caitlyn sniffled.

"I looked in her eyes, and I thought... she was lifeless. I was wrong," Vi repeated.

A few feet away from the girls, Ekko began to wake up, feeling a strange sensation on his face. He blinked a few times before his eyes focused. Powder was wiping his blood away with a rag. Akali was standing with a concerned look on her face.

"P-Powder?" Ekko groaned.

"Don't look in any mirrors," Akali mumbled.

"Ekko! Alright... we are... going to get you to a doctor, you guys have doctors, right?" Powder choked out.

"Y-Yeah... we got doctors," Akali responded.

"What... happened to me?" Ekko groaned.

"Nothing, nothing. You're gonna be fine," Powder whispered. "Akali, can you fucking move?!"

"S-Sorry!" Akali stuttered.

Akali ran off to find the field medics.

Ekko's face was bashed in pretty bad. His nose was flattened, his skull nearly crushed, and he was bleeding from pretty much half his face. Powder tried to apply pressure, but Ekko yelled out in pain.

"Okay, o-o-okay... we w-won't do that," Powder blubbered.

"I love you..." Ekko croaked.

"Stop! No, no, no! You're fine! I-I... shit! I love you too, Ekko," Powder cried.

Akali came back with a team of medics. They put Ekko on a carry stretcher before quickly sprinting in the direction of camp. Powder watched them carry him away, and she directed her attention to Vi and Caitlyn.

"Guys! Ekko's hurt, we gotta go," Powder wept.

Caitlyn nodded and helped Vi up. Everyone started to follow the medical team, with Vi maintaining her grip on the fragment of Orianna's ball. It was all they had left of the person who saved their lives.

...

Ekko would reach a stable condition after a few weeks in Ionia. Although his injuries weren't fully healed, he was in a good enough position to head home. Akali made the decision that Ionia would be safe without her, and she finally wanted to pursue one of her dreams. On the trip back to Piltover, Akali accompanied the group. When they eventually arrived, the council members were waiting for Sevika and Caitlyn. Seraphine was also at the docks.

"Where's Councilwoman Orianna?" Shoola asked.

Everyone remained silent, exchanging a few glances with each other. Shoola let out a quiet gasp and Caitlyn lowered her head.

"She sacrificed herself to save everyone else. We need to memorialize her," Caitlyn murmured.

"Of course..." Seye agreed.

"She... found her humanity. In the end, she made sure everyone knew. She had a heart like the rest of us," Seraphine consoled.

"Is the war over?" Boswell asked.

"It's done," Vi sighed.

"How are things here? Back to normal?" Caitlyn asked.

"Hextech weapons are off the streets, taken from investors, and completely discontinued. The only use for Hextech now is purely for travel and defense. We are working to provide medical assistance to any remaining victims of shimmer, and we have helped clean the air down from the lowest levels of our nation," Shoola informed.

Powder's eyes widened. She never thought she would hear that the undercity was being treated equally to Piltover. She didn't even say Undercity or Piltover. She described everything as one. One equal entity. It brought a smile to her face.

...

Over the next month, a statue of Orianna was erected in the center of town. Many people left flowers and notes for her. Vi and Caitlyn made sure to visit every day. Eventually, they moved out of the Kiramman mansion and found a nice place near the council building. Caitlyn continued her council work, and Vi joined a construction team. Akali and Powder became firelights, which now act as the police of the lower levels of Piltover. They stop crime and communicate directly to Sevika about issues they face. Seraphine decided she didn't want to be a solo act anymore and started recruiting around for any other people who enjoyed the beauty of music. Akali thought it would be a good way to express herself, and she and Seraphine soon began to work on music together. The nation was finally in a time of peace. Of course, there was the chance everyone would have to fight again, but for the time they didn't, everyone made sure to enjoy it with good company.

Vi and Caitlyn enjoyed some time sitting together on the balcony of their new home, taking in the fresh view.

"This is a much better balcony," Vi stated.

"Why?" Caitlyn wondered.

"Because... the view is better. It's not just other rich houses in the neighborhood. I can see the council building, the town plaza... and I can see Orianna," Vi smiled.

"I'm glad she's so close," Caitlyn beamed.

"Me too," Vi agreed.

"I'm so lucky to have you," Caitlyn whispered.

"I love you," Vi chirped.

"Love you too," Caitlyn resounded.

Both of them couldn't hold back their joy as they soaked in the sun. Another important thing for Caitlyn happened after moving here. The stress was finally gone, and at night, she was no longer restless.
