"Yes, I am on my bed resting Mumma," I said to my mom as I cradled the phone between my shoulder and ear, stirring sugar into my tea.
"He'll be a healthy child mom, don't worry.. I'm eating well, I promise.. And also Ayaz has some amazing genes, I know This little bastard is definitely going to be a stud like his father".
I laughed "Yes, Ayaz is still out of town. but he's a busy man.. anyways he takes care of me more than you do!" I said to her in a sarcastic way.
"Okay.. I'm hanging up now, Time to 'rest in peace!!' " I teased, rolling my eyes. Obviously I don't want to die. Why would I..?
Life felt perfect. A loving husband, a baby on the way. What could go wrong?
I took my tea to our room. Put my phone on the bed and reached our room's balcony door.
It was a bright day, but I couldn't shake the chill that ran through me as I stood at my balcony
I sipped my tea, enjoyed it like no tomorrow.
But as evening fell, so did I...and so did that cup, we both reached the ground, one fall ruined my day and the other one ruined my cutlery set.
"The cramps" hit suddenly, sharper than before. I gasped, clutching my belly. Not like last time. This was deeper, more brutal, a storm raging inside me, like somebody stabbing my belly. Sweat dripped, my knees buckled. My foot refused to lift me.
"No," I mumbled, as fear gnawed at the edge of my mind. Something was wrong.. Very wrong..
I tried to reach my phone, I tried to drag myself toward the bed,
my fingers stretched out to reach a little more... Just a little more....
I wanted To call someone.. Someone for help.. I wanted To call Ayaz..
"Where the fuck is he..." I shouted foolishly, like he's gonna hear my voice., and come running..
After not getting anywhere near that phone, I gave up...
collapsed, my tears mixing with my sweat. Helpless!!
Now I have left with only one option, screaming for help!!
And I did.. I opened my mouth. But no word came out,
just a raw loud shout. With pure agony
"AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH"
But I could not continue it for long. My screams faltered, my throat raw, so I stopped shortly after!!
But somebody did hear my scream. It was Mrs. Maheta, who lives just next to our apartment. Gorilla lady!! That's what kids call her. I never knew why!! Till today..
She heard my screams and rushed to our apartment's door and started calling for me while pounding on the door,
"Mrs. Rez, are you there?", she asked. But I was in no position to answer her.
She asked again,
"Mrs. Rez.. are you being raped right now?"
WHAT THE FUCK!!! Did she really ask me that, As if somebody could really answer that if they were in that position.
But I did. Somehow, a hoarse, broken
"Yes!" escaped my lips.
Because at that moment, any help was better than none.
Mrs. Maheta, without having any other thought crossed her mind, broke the door open and rushed towards me.
Just like a Gorilla!!!
