The Final Dream

A Long, Long Story

Author's Note: This chapter will only focus on Clemont and Korrina. Enjoy!

Clemont's POV

"Luxray, use Thunder Fang!", I commanded.

"Lucario, use Bone Rush!", Korrina ordered.

Luxray launched himself from the ground and aimed to strike Lucario from the air, while his opponent readied its weapons and prepared to deflect the attack. 

"Luxerrrai!!!"

"Cariooo!"

The two attacks collided, with Luxray breaking through the Bone Rush shield Lucario had tried to put up and nipping its chest spike, causing electricity to flow through its body. It stumbled back, but it could still battle.

"This isn't over yet! Lucario, use Aura Sphere!"

"Luxray, counter with Swift!"

The two attacked smashed into each other in mid-air, with Lucario's Aura Sphere torn apart by Luxray's Swift stars, which then hit Lucario.

"Luxray, use Electric Terrain!", I shouted, taking advantage of the Aura Pokémon's hit.

"Not so fast. Lucario, use Flash Cannon!"

The flash of light hit my Pokémon in the chest, causing him to partially stumble. However, he stopped himself from moving too far, and soon got into what I call his pouncing position.

"This is it, Luxray. Use Thunder Fang!"

"Lucario, dodge!"

But it was too late. Electric Terrain's boundaries acted like a fence, allowing Luxray to get the victory by landing his attack on Lucario's shoulder.

"Woah, seems like you've gotten stronger.", Korrina said.

"Oh, uh, thanks.", I said nervously.

"So, about the Gym Leader ball. Can you be my partner?"

"I mean, I suppose so. Both of us can't dance, so it's perfect.", I said with a laugh.

"Okay, that's funny.", she said as she giggled. "I'll go meet you on Friday, alright?"

"Yeah, sure. That's perfectly fine."

As soon as she left, Bonnie came out, seemingly from the shadows. As soon as she saw me blushing, I knew I was done for.

"Brother has a crush on the Shalour Gym Leader, huh?", she teased.

"Yeah, you caught me."

"What's her name?"

"H-Her name's Korrina.", I said, feeling my face heat up even more.

"Hmmmmm, Korrina. She sounds like she could be a keeper."

"Stop!", I said, at which point I was sure my cheeks looked as red as a Pikachu's.

"Friday, huh. You better prepare then.", Bonnie said as she left.

Man, is she a little gremlin.

I looked for clothes that would fit the occasion soon after. I wanted to look good to her, of course. In many ways, we're complete opposites. But there's just this feeling I have when I'm with her. I feel so relaxed, like I can tell her anything I want. Her pale blonde hair swaying in the wind, her energy, something about her just interests me. 

Finally, I found one that I thought would fit. It was a simple black tuxedo, with a space in the left chest area to pin a rose on. For the inner shirt, I just got a white buttoned one, while my pants were long and dark grey. I figured I'd look pretty nice in the outfit I chose. I wanted to impress her, after all. I quickly paid the cashier and went back to the Gym to test some accessories, where I found my watch worked best.
