Calem's POV 

"Everything is ready.", I told Malva. "I have the sequence of events carefully ordered. It is sure to be fool-proof."

"Very well. Just make sure it is.", she replied.

"Yes, I will."

"In a few days, the attack will start, and Kalos will be helpless."

"By the way, Malva, are you sure there are no more obstacles?"

"Yes, Calem. I have ensured that there are no more."

"Alright, then. I must enact it now."

I instructed Mariana to bring some grunts willing to do the dirty work. I personally did not want to make someone disappear, so I just told them to take the person I wanted to the old storage in Laverre.

"I will pay you fifty thousand. That is the top price. Bring me Ketchum."

"Just make sure you'll pay us. After all, that's a pretty high-profile person."

"Yes, I will pay. Make sure your job isn't sloppy."

With that, I sent them off. I wanted to end this mission as soon as possible. It needed to be done quickly. 

Ash's POV j

I was walking down the street. I'd told Serena that I would visit Sycamore today, as I hadn't really seen him since I left. 

"Are you Ash Ketchum?", a voice suddenly asked.

"Yeah, I am.", I said as I turned around.

"Come with us."

"I'm sorry, but I can't do that."

"I said, come with us."

"Again, I can't."

Suddenly, something hit me, making me dizzy. I tried to regain control, but I soon felt them carrying me to a car. I fell unconscious after that.

I woke up surrounded by the same people who had taken me. I tried to get out, but soon realized that I had been tied down to a chair.

"Hello, Ketchum.", greeted a voice I recognized.

"Melac?! What is this?!", I asked angrily.

"Oh, that is not my name. I am Calem Xavier, fifth highest official of Team Flare."

"Team Flare?! But weren't you disbanded years ago?!"

"I see. You've believed we'd stop. But we didn't."

"What do you want from me?"

"I want you to not interfere in our plans, Ketchum."

"You tried to destroy Kalos years ago!" 

"Right, and we will again."

"I will never! I need to protect this region!"

"Agree, and we will spare her."

He pulled out a picture of Serena. My heart sank, and I didn't know what to do. 

"I thought you were a friend!"

"Oh, Ketchum. You were fooled, then."

"You manipulated her! I'll never forgive you!"

"Indeed I did. Now, I'll ask you one more time. Kalos, or her? The people, or your love?"
