The Calm

Clemont's POV 

"Bonnie, we have to go now. Ash is waiting for us at the airport.", I said to my little sister.

"Just wait for her, Clemont.", Korrina told me.

"I guess we can.", I spoke softly.

After a few minutes, Bonnie finally emerged from the bedroom. She was still wearing her normal outfit, making me even more confused.

"What took you so long?", I asked, puzzled.

"Well, uh, Dedenne kept running around and I had to chase her. Also, I had to fix my dress because it got, um, ruffled."

"Alright, but next time don't take so long."

We went to the airport to meet Ash and Serena, who were returning back to Kalos. I was particularly excited because I had invited them to have a little vacation with us. They'd accepted, and that was why we were meeting them.

"Hey! Bonnie!", someone suddenly called out.

We all looked to the direction where it came from. Bonnie immediately sprinted to Serena and hit her with a massive hug, with Ash stopping them from hitting the ground. Korrina and I followed her afterward.

"So, how was Hoenn?", I asked.

"Oh, it wasn't just Hoenn we visited.", Ash replied.

"Really? Where else did you go?", Bonnie asked.

"Oh, there you two are!", Serena's mother yelled.

"No, really, where else? And why is Serena's mom with you two?", I questioned again.

"Oh, it's a long story.", Ash responded. "Basically, I planned to meet my mom in Kanto, but Serena's mom was there, too."

"Well, that's interesting.", I said nonchalantly.

"For sure, it was. We weren't expecting a whole family reunion.", Serena told us with a laugh.

"So, Serena. Will you go to Vaniville or not? Because I'm going there right now.", her mom asked.

"Hmmm. I guess not right now, Mom.", she responded.

"Alright, then. I'll see you when I see you.", she said as she walked away.

"Where will you two be staying tonight, then?", Korrina asked.

"Oh, we already got a hotel room, so that's not a problem.", they said.

"So, uh, we were planning a beach trip, and um, would you like to join us?", I inquired.

They both talked to each other for a minute, while we waited for a response.

"Yeah, I guess we can join."

"Perfect. I'll arrange everything, then.", I replied. "If you want, you can have lunch at our place."

"I think that would be nice.", Ash said as his stomach rumbled, causing some of us to laugh.

"Yep. I think my boyfriend here is hungry.", Serena followed up.

We walked down the narrow avenue connecting the airport to the main part of Lumiose. We reached Prism Tower quickly, as there wasn't really anything stopping us. It was nearing winter too, so the heat was practically non-existent.

"Well, we're here. The food's on the table, just get whatever you like.", I told them with a smile.

I noticed Ash looking at one of the dishes, examining it like something was off. I walked up to see why.

"Why, Ash? Is there a problem?", I asked.

"Nothing, it just seems familiar. How did you learn to cook this?"
