Wu stood outside a small townhouse in Ninjago. "You little brat, I'm going to beat you!" a woman's voice called from the townhouse. Wu knocked on the door. A woman with brown hair and an excited look in her eyes opened the door. "What did she do now?" the woman said. Before Wu could say anything, the woman yelled, "Stephany, get out here and apologize for whatever you did!" A young girl no older than thirteen, with jet-black hair and blood-red eyes, came out. Wu noticed her resemblance to Trixie. "It's just a... She is not," Wu thought. Wu began, "Can I see Stephany alone for a minute?" The woman nodded. Wu and Stephany walked around the city, and Wu began, "Stephany, why are you always in trouble?" Stephany looked up at him and sarcastically said, "What do you think? That's all I'm good for." "And why is that?" Wu asked. Stephany looked at him, stunned, and Wu laughed. "You know, my brother and I were troublemakers when we were young, too." Wu then asked, "Stephany, would you like to learn how to master your cause?" Stephany nodded, and the purple ninja was born.

"Okay, so we have to have a big party or something," Nya said. "Oh, yeah, we can have all that Star Ferrer stuff he likes," Lloyd said. "Lloyd, he's turning 21. Don't you think that's a little childish?" Cole suggested. "Ever since we killed Nadakhan, Jay has hated everything to do with Cliff Gordon," Nya told them. Jay walked into the room and asked, "So, what are you guys up to?" The ninja turned to Jay and hid their plans for his birthday. Nya came up and put her arms around his shoulders and said, "Hey, Jay, why don't you go help Master with the new ninja?" Jay laughed and kissed Nya and asked, "What are you planning?" And then he walked out of the monastery to help Wu with the new ninja.

Jay saw Wu and a girl whom he personally recognized as the new ninja. He walked up to them and said, "Hey, Master, and who is this?" as he looked at the girl. Wu looked down and said, "Come on, tell him who you are." "Stephany," the girl whispered. "Master of?" Wu tried to get her to say. "Death," Stephany said. "Death?" Jay questioned. "Yes, Jay, there is a Master of Death. The element of death was long forgotten until I found her," Wu explained. Wu put his hand on Stephany's back, and the three walked into the monastery.
