The faint smell of buttery cheese sauce mixed with the sweet, smoky aroma of onions and bell peppers, filtered through out Rae's home. The smell was so intoxicating, it had Trevon ready to dive right into the Thanksgiving feast.

The faint sound of With You by Chris Brown being played through Rae's TV. Trevon's mind roamed off to Arianna—hoping that she would still come to meet his mom. No matter the situation she was still his girlfriend and today was important to him.

"Tre," his mother called out, her soft smile easing his anxiety. "You look like something is bothering you, you okay?"

Trevon plastered a fake smile across his face, in hopes his mother would believe that he was perfectly fine. "Yeah, ma."

"Hmm," she hummed, very aware that her son was lying but refused to pry into his personal conflicts.

His mother took a seat next to him, her head resting against her son's shoulder. "I can tell when you're lying, Trevon."

Trevon chuckled, his head resting on top of his mother's. "It's that noticeable, huh?" He asked with a smirk tugging across his lips.

"You're my son," his mother said with a small chuckle. "I know you better than you know yourself."

Trevon chuckled as he sat up, hearing a small, familiar voice coming from the front door. "TeTe Rae." she called out, her small voice send a rush of nerves through Trevon, realizing her mother wasn't too far behind.

His eyes traveled Arianna's whole attire, unintentionally grazing his tongue across his bottom lip. The two hadn't physically seen each other in about two weeks, so her appearance was extra impressive to him.

Arianna wore a simple brown turtle neck bodysuit that projected her curves effortlessly, Her bottoms were a simple pair of high waist skinny jeans to keep her figure showing, and the outfit was pulled together by her White Air Force ones.

"Tre," Ayla squealed, quickly rushing towards Trevon and reaching out for a hug. Trevon smiled as he leaned over and picked her up to receive a warm and gentle hug.

"She's adorable," Trevon's mother said, watching the exchange, her heart filling with joy at the small interaction. "Hi pretty girl, what's your name?"

Ayla's eyebrows furrowed, her facial expression showing that her nerves kicked inimmediately. She glanced over at Trevon, her frown still placed upon her face.

"Come on," Trevon encouraged, as he pointed towards his mother. "This is my mom—it's okay, Ayla."

Ayla's eyes shifted between Trevon and his mother, her left hand raising flat as she placed her right hand on top with a 'thumbs up' gesture. Understanding the signal for help, he quickly nodded with his smile growing wide.
