"My love do you ever dream of candy coated rain drops!" The car shouted in unison, as they arrived back to Arianna's house from their Christmas trip. It was now January third and they had brought the new year in as a family.
Ayla danced in her seat, a large smile plastered across her face, and Arianna reciprocated the excited energy. The day was going great, their new family was perfect, and exactly what Arianna always prayed for.
Trevon drove down the street, Rae tailing him, as they pulled up and noticed a black Trackhawk sitting outside of the house. His eye brows furrowed together as a sense of wonder and confusion washed over him.
Something wasn't right, he could feel it in his chest, and he knew it had to do what that black car. They pulled in front of Rae's house and parked to start unloading all of the gifts and suitcases.
"Arianna." The deep voice called out, the moment her passenger door opened, and her heart dropped—Demario.
Trevon glanced over at her, seeing a look of anxiousness plastered across her face, and he went into defense mode. "Baby you good?" He asked, though he knew she wasn't.
"Um," she paused, glancing over at Trevon, with a small smile. "I'm fine, baby. I'm about to get her in the house."
"Okay." Trevon nodded, watching as Arianna stepped out of the vehicle, and Ayla did as well. Normally when she seen her father she would rush to him, but today was different—uncomfortable.
Ayla placed her cat ear headphones onto her ears, rushing into Rae's house along with Leigh. Arianna tried to be a few steps behind, but the feeling body heat, pushed against her back.
"You heard me talking to you, Ari." Demario mumbled, sending a chill of fear down her spine. Trevon had gotten out of the car, making his way to them to get her inside safely—this obsession stopped here.
"Dame." Trevon called out, gently pulling Arianna around him, and staring at the other male with a deep glare.
"Nigga this between me and the mother of my child back the fuck up." Dame spat bitterly, his eyes covered in pain and regret.
Dame had heard about the news of their engagement, his whole heart felt like it got ripped out of his chest, and he was finally heartbroken behind Arianna. He figured that all these years of coming and going, she would wait for him, but love found its way to her.
"Baby," Arianna muttered, intertwining their hands, and attempting to calm his tension. "It's fine."
Dame glanced down at the smaller, their eyes connecting, and his aura projecting the pain that he felt. The regret was plastered on his face, along with the compassion that he had when they first met—the old him.
