The smooth, melody of Let It Snow by Boyz II Men, echoed throughout the home, while Arianna poured fresh glasses of hot cocoa. Trevon stood in the corner of the house, building up the Christmas tree, as Ayla sat on the couch watching intensely and swinging her feet.

"So, baby, let it snow." Arianna sung along, walking towards Trevon and Ayla with their mugs in hand.

Trevon clicked the top of the tree in place, making sure all of the wires were connected before using the button to power it on. The lights beamed brightly, projecting nothing but beautiful Christmas spirit into the air. All they needed now were decorations.

"It's so pretty," Ayla said in awe, rushing towards the bin of ornaments, in search to find her favorite one.

Arianna made it a yearly tradition to make sure Ayla's first ever Christmas picture was in an ornament, that way she would see it as she grew up-she loved it.

"Why you ain't drinking the hot chocolate?" Trevon asked, noticing the caramel colored liquid in her cup.

"Cause," she said taking a small sip, "I been sick, baby. So, I figured that I would just drink tea."

Trevon nodded, taking a small sip of the hot liquid, allowing the warm chocolatey flavor to dance on his taste buds. The couple sat on the couch watching Ayla decorate the part of the tree she could reach, before they stepped in decorating the top part themselves.

"You ain't go to the doctor?" Trevon questioned, glanced over at Arianna.

"No," she said, her eyes dropping from his gaze. "I think it's going to clear up, baby."

Trevon shook his head in disagreement, his eyes narrowing at her for a moment. "Ari, yo ass could have Covid or sum shit."

"Boy," Arianna said wth her neck jerking back. "I ain't got no damn Covid, Tre. I would know if I did or didn't."

"Man," he said, smacking his lips while waving her off. "No you wouldn't, Ari. Just please go to the doctor for me, mama."

Arianna nodded as she took another sip of her tea, glancing down at her phone that lit up. She quickly grabbed it, sliding her thumb across the screen to answer.

"Hey bestie," she greeted into the phone with a smile.

"Hey beautiful," Rae greeted back, reciprocating the good energy Arianna had. "We are pulling up. Can you tell Tre to come help grab these bags?"

"Yeah," Arianna said, glancing over at Trevon. "Baby can you go help your sister with the bags."

Trevon nodded, before he stood up to put his coat on. Arianna glanced over at the door, watching in exit the house, before she hung the phone up.
