Days Later...

"Alright, alright, the undefeated champ himself," Shannon said as I took my seat across from him. "Aubrey, welcome to Club Shay Shay. Man, I been waiting to get you in here. We got a lot to talk about."

I grinned, leaning back into the comfortable chair. "You already know I couldn't pass up the invite. Let's get to it."

"Alright, let's not waste any time. Tyson Fury this fight's about to be one of the biggest in boxing history. How you feeling going into it? You nervous at all?"

"Nah, not nervous," I said confidently. "I'm excited. Fury's good, but I've been undefeated for a reason. This is what I do, and I'm ready to show the world why I'm still at the top."

Shannon nodded, clearly impressed. "That's what I like to hear. But Fury's been talking a lot of trash lately, saying you ain't ready for someone like him. How do you respond to that?"

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Let him talk. That's what he does. When we get in that ring, none of that's gonna matter. He can say whatever he wants, but I know what I'm capable of. I've been training hard, and I'm gonna let my fists do the talking."

He leaned in, his expression curious. "Alright, Aubrey, let's talk about that video with you and Kevin. It's been everywhere, and people wanna know—what exactly happened there?"

I let out a breath, knowing this was coming. "It's not as simple as it looks. Kevin did something that crossed a major line. It wasn't just a disagreement. It was personal, and it involved someone I care about. When I found out what he did, I couldn't just sit back and let it slide."

Shannon raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Personal? What exactly are we talking about here? You said he crossed a line. What was it?"

I kept it vague, not mentioning any names but making sure the message was clear. "Let's just say he disrespected someone close to me. Someone who didn't deserve that kind of treatment. I trusted him, and he went behind my back and did something I couldn't accept. That video? It was just the aftermath of me confronting him. I wasn't going to let him get away with it."

Shannon nodded slowly, taking it all in. "So, this wasn't just some petty argument or a fight out of nowhere. It was built up from something deeper, right?"

"Exactly," I said, my voice steady. "This wasn't something I wanted to happen, but I had to handle it. Kevin knew what he did."

"But some people are saying you got a little emotional there. They're wondering if it distracted you, especially with a big fight coming up. What do you say to those people?"

"Yeah, emotions got the best of me that day. But that's not gonna distract me from what I've got ahead. People will talk, but the fight's where my head is."

Shannon smiled, "I respect that. So, you're saying this situation with Kevin won't affect your focus going into the fight?"

"Not at all," I said, with confidence. "That's in the past. What's in front of me is what matters now. Fury's the target, and nothing's gonna shake my focus."

"Aubrey. I hear you. You're not letting distractions take you off track. Can I ask another question about this situation?" he said, giving me a knowing look. "Who is Onika? You screamed her name when you were throwing punches at Kevin. Is she special?"

As soon as he mentioned her name, a smile crept onto my face without me even realizing it.

I tried to keep my cool, but the mention of her always made me feel a certain way.
