I sighed, glancing ahead to see Omari laughing as he played Uno with Kashton and Ava.

At least they were having a good time on this flight. Their carefree energy was a comfort in what was turning into a stressful situation for me.

I shifted my gaze back to the window, staring out at the endless expanse of clouds as I wrapped the blanket tighter around me.

No matter how hard I tried to focus on anything else. My mind kept circling back to what had happened earlier.

It was about an hour ago when I woke up in one of Aubrey's rooms on the plane, only to see him talking to a girl I didn't recognize. He hadn't noticed I was awake yet, so I just watched for a moment, trying to figure out what was going on.

When he finally saw me, he introduced her as one of his friends, Robin, he said her name was.

It felt...odd.

Aubrey usually told me about all his people, all his friends, and everyone in his circle.

As soon as she left the room, I asked him about it. I wanted to know how long they'd been friends and why he never mentioned her before. The whole thing didn't sit right with me. It wasn't even necessarily about her; it was the fact that it felt like he'd been keeping something from me.

Instead of letting the conversation escalate into an argument, something I really didn't want, especially with his fight coming up in a couple of days, I decided to leave the room.

I needed to cool off, so I came out here to sit in the aisle and give myself some space.

Behind me, I could hear the guys laughing about something, I sighed again, pulling out my phone out of habit and opening my girls group chat. I started typing a message to vent but then remembered there was no Wi-Fi on the plane.

Frustrated, I locked my phone and leaned back, letting the blanket cocoon me as I tried to shake off everything.

I just wanted to enjoy this trip and support Aubrey, but this thing with Robin was already throwing me off.

I was so deep in thought I didn't notice Aubrey stepping into the aisle until he crouched down next to me. I glanced at him briefly before turning my gaze back to the window.

"You alright?" he asked softly.

"I'm fine," I replied, keeping my tone even.

"You sure?" he pressed, his hand lightly brushing against my knee. "You've been out here for a minute."

I hesitated, debating whether I wanted to get into it right now. Part of me wanted to lay it all out, but the other part didn't want to argue or ruin his focus before the fight.
