It had been a week since I'd arrived in New York, and now it was time for me to leave. We had spent so much time together, and it was hard knowing that today was the day I had to head back to Cali for the weigh-in.

I wasn't ready to go, but I had to.

She had just dropped Omari off to school and just got back, getting ready, about to head out herself.

"Are you just gonna keep being a creep and stare at me, Aubrey?" she said, breaking my trance.

I smirked even wider, "Until I can't no more, yeah," I replied, stepping up behind her. I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me, and she leaned into me, both of us looking at our reflection in the mirror.

I kissed her cheek softly, multiple times, feeling her laughter vibrate against my lips.

She tried to pull away, but I wasn't having it.

"Oh my god, Aubrey, stop," she said, laughing.

I couldn't help myself, she looked too damn good standing there.

"I can't help it, mama. You look too good for me not to," I teased, leaning in to kiss her again.

She rolled her eyes playfully, but I could tell she was smiling.

"Alright, alright," she chuckled, finally managing to pull away a little, "But you better not make me late."

"I'll make sure you get out of here on time, promise."

"So, are you excited about the weigh-in?" she asked, turning towards me and leaning against the counter.

I grabbed my wave brush and started brushing through my waves, looking at her in the mirror.

"Excited?" I repeated, "Nah, not really. It's just another day. But I guess I'm ready to get it over with."

She raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it.

"You know I'm just focused on the fight. Weigh-ins? They don't mean much to me," I added, giving her a little shrug. "But I appreciate you asking. I'm just trying to stay in my zone before everything goes down."

I just wanted to keep the focus on what mattered, the fight, the championship.

She smiled, a soft one, before walking closer to me. "I know you got this, Aubrey. Just don't stress yourself out. You'll do great."

My phone dinged, pulling me out of my thoughts as I looked up to see Onika walking out of the bathroom. Her scrubs hugged her in all the right places.

I couldn't help but stare, my mind drifting to how good she looked.

"Fuck," I mumbled to myself, shaking my head before I turned my phone on, seeing my driver had texted that he was outside.

I walked out of the bathroom to find Onika getting her coat on. "I'm about to go, Aubrey," she said, looking up at me. I nodded.
