❲☆ 'Tutorials (Film)' is a film-adaption to Jia's debut album of the same name. It is set in the high school Jia attended and follows her life as a student who is put under intense pressure. Jia is the only actress in this movie and she embodies the roles of different characters, each representing an archetype of student at her school. Any person that appears in the movie has Jia's face, but they differ in personalities and attitudes.
Through surreal dreamscapes, poignant dialogue, and intense visual symbolism, the film delves deep into the tension between individual authenticity and societal demands.
The creation of this film came about after long discussion with YG Entertainment. The negotiation agreement was to put into production a music video for the song 'Alright' and a 'short' film for the whole album. It took a total of three months full of planning and shooting, all done in collaboration with YGH Studios.
