The Love That Let Go (Part 1)

I just came out the shower , and my phone was ringing off the hook . 

"Hello ?" I answered 

I heard a whole bunch of noise and I looked at my phone then put it back on my ear. 

"Alane." I said trying to be patient

"Hey , what are you doing ?" she asked then it got quieter 

"Well , I just came out the shower . Why ? You called me before ?" 

"Yeah , my boyfriend's having a party so I thought why not just let you meet him now." She said nonchalantly 

"Oh , My cousin's not home yet but I'll just tell my aunt." 

"Ok , I'll be there in like a hour." she hung up 

Damn, No Goodbye ?! 

I walked into the living room and asked my aunt if I could go. 

"Sure honey , I think it's good you're already making friends and you've only been here for like 3 days." 

"A friend , one. But yeah , she's gonna be here in like an hour so can you tell Char for me." I said hurrying up the stairs

"Speaking of Char where is she ? It's already 9 o'clock. Oh well it's a friday night so she's probably with her friends." I heard my aunt say before walking back into the room 

Char

"This isn't rocket science genius , I'm obviously pregnant !" I yelled in Maliki's face 

"Thanks for appreciating my genuisness." He replied 

We were standing in his room since he took me home after practice . 

I sat on the side of his bed , "What am I going to do Lik ? My mom's gonna kill me." 

"We could always get an abortion , no biggie." He made it sound so simple

"No biggie ? Your not the one carrying a kid ! I'm not having no damn abortion that's killing someone for no reason I'd basically be committing murder !" I yelled 

I don't believe in abortion , 

This isn't a mistake . 

I'm damn sure that God wants me to have this baby 

"We're not ready for this , I'm sure as hell not. How would I look with a baby ? That's not gonna look good at all." 

"I didn't do this alone Maliki ." I gritted my teeth 

"I don't know what to tell you." 

"Tell me it's gonna be fine , you won't have to go through this alone!" I yelled 

He just stood there with his head in his hands , 

"I know you here me talking to you !" I said walking over to him and pushing his head 

"Ugh ! I can't believe you right now !" I yelled walking over to a picture frame with a picture of me and him smiling sitting on his steps , I knocked it over making the picture fall out and shatter the glass 

He looked up , 

"If you would've just listened to me and wore the damn condom !" I broke down crying 

He got up , and saw there was water in his eyes 

I've never seen him get emotional  , ever . 

His jaw was clenched , 

"I'm tired of everyone telling me I should've listened , let me do me ok?" He yelled back at me pushing me against the wall  

"Don't yell at me ," I said stepping in his face 

"Or what ?" He pushed me back against the wall harder 

"Hey , Hey , Hey ! What's going on in here ?" His mom said walking into the room and looking around 

The tears started to fall harder , 

I took one last look at him and moved past him and walked out the door jogging down the steps 

"You did what ?!" I heard his mom yell as I was walking out the door , 

I ran outside and ran into the middle of the street when I saw bright white lights coming towards me.

"Char !" I heard Maliki yell 

I heard the tires screech , 

I fell to the ground  

My head resting on the ground

I heard a door open then close , 

"Don't just stand there ! Do something." 

I heard dial buttons being pressed

My eyes remained open , 

They wouldn't shut 

"Char , talk to me." Maliki said looking at me 

I could see him but I could say anything , 

I have no idea why 

Then I felt my eyes closing , 

"No Char , don't do it." 

I closed them and the last thing I heard was sirens in the distance , 

and Maliki's mom telling him to help me up or something like that .

Please don't let this be the end of , I prayed . 

Then everything went blank , 

my thoughts , everything . 

I saw a white light in my eyelids ..
