"Meet Rayjon & Aphre . My best friends." Char said introducing them to me

"Alicia. Are you guys twins ?" I asked putting another chip in my mouth .

"No , We heard you have a twin though ." Elise said

"You heard correct. Lelina , but she's back in L.A."

They shook their heads

"Yeah but anyway Li's coming to our school."

"She's a performer ?" Elandra said raising her eyebrow

"Performer ? Why do I have to be a performer ?"

"Because we're in the performing arts program." Elise said

"I don't perform , but I like dance . Wait does that mean I won't be with you guys ?"

"We might not have all the same classes but we might have a few together." Elandra said

"Did you know about this ?" I said looking beside me at Char who was just sipping her smoothie & looking around

"I'm talking to you." I tapped her

"Hmph ?" Char said letting the the straw out her mouth letting the smoothie in the straw flick on me

"I said did you know that I won't have the same classes as you ? Why didn't you tell me you do performing arts ?" I said wiping my face

"I dance ." Char shrugged "I wouldn't call that performing arts."

"You still didn't answer my first question."

"I did know , but in my defense you don't look like the artsy type ?" Char leaned back

"There's a type ?" I asked raising my eyebrow again

"Yeah , it's in your walk." Elise stated

"And the way you carry yourself and tone of voice. Depending on what your arts major would be." Elandra said

"Do I like have to audition ?" I threw my empty chip bag towards the garbage can and it went in.

"From the looks of it you need to be playing basketball not worrying about auditioning." A little boy walked into the backyard

"And you are ?" I questioned

"Rahja ." Rahja responded

"He's my little brother." Rayjon responded

"I'm like 15 , I'm not little. But anyway the way your wrist bended says you have to play some type of sport involving ball." Rahja demonstrated

"Rah ?" I looked at him , "May I call you Rah ?" He nodded "What sport do you play?"

"Soccer." Rah responded

"My sister plays that. But anyway stick to soccer I'm pretty sure you know nothing about Basketball." I rolled my eyes

"Bet ?" He smiled rubbing his hands together

"What did we tell you about making that face ? It's gonna get stuck like that ." Rayjon laughed

"Man, shut up." Rah fanned her off

"How come he sounds American and you don't ?" I asked Ray

"I was born here and my family stayed here til I was 5 , my parents' jobs sent them to the U.S. for 5 years." Rayjon started but was interrupted by Rah

"Which is where I was made ," He cheesed then continued "Stayed til I was 7 then we moved back here."

"Oh. I was actually talking to her but your explanation works too."

"You weren't being specific , so I answered." Rah said

"But I was looking at her though. So you can shut up now." I said rolling my eyes

"Weren't we just talking about making a bet here ? I got money on Li though ." Aphre said holding out her fist

"Oh word ? Money well spent." I said pounding her fist

"Nobody's gonna bet on me ?" Rah said

"I'll bet on you ." Char said , "How does 10 Dollars sound kiddo ?" She said messing up his hair

"Like sh*t." Rah tried to mumble under his breath , FAIL .

"What'd you say ?" Ray said

"I didn't say nothing ." Rah kicked some dirt

"Liar !" Ray yelled chasing after him with her flip flop .

Aphre , Char and I started laughing , until they came back.

"Sh*t." Rah said between breaths

"What'd you say ? You said it again ? You want me to freakin womp you ?!" Ray yelled in his ear making him cover it

"Man , chill. I'm going inside maybe next time you'll lose to me." Rah said picking up the basketball from out the pool and walking inside

"Actions speak louder than words kid." I yelled after him

For the rest of the day we chilled outside of Rayjon's house until it was 9.

"We'll see you tomorrow Alicia . Bye Char." Ray and Aphre shouted out the front door as we walked to Char's car

We waved back and got in the car.

At Home :

"Your friends are chill ." I said laying next to Char

"You'll make your own friends soon." Char smiled poking my face

"Hopefully." I sighed

"You miss home ?" Char asked leaning on her arm

"I thought I was home."

"Your real home." She replied

"I've only been gone for 2 days according to India's time zone. Let 'em miss me. I only miss my sister and my parents." My mom left before we got back . Not even a goodbye .

"Girls , lights out . You have to be up by 6." My aunt said closing our door and turning off the lights

"That's earlier than I ever had to wake up." I said looking up at the ceiling decorated in paint splatters

"Get used to it sunshine." Char laughed.

Soon after , I fell asleep. I'm gonna need a lot of sleep cause tomorrow's about to be an adventure.
