"You didn't go to class, right?" Patricia says as we meet again at the lockers.
I place my stuff in the locker and take out things for the history class and my water bottle.
"Nah, I ended up going to class. I was afraid I'd get caught." I admit and roll my eyes, she just looks at me and laughs.
"What are you laughing at?" I cross my arms over my chest as she continues laughing.
"Nothing," She says as she takes her breath. "You just don't fit in this whole thing, and I find it funny actually," She stops and sighs as she looks at the floor. "I want the old Eve back."
"I didn't change, I guess I just found out who I am and where I belong." I explain but she just turns her head away.
I open my water bottle and take a sip as I wait for her reply.
"You'll regret it, because you're going in the wrong path." She starts walking away.
"Hey! Where are you going?" I say as I walk after her.
"Going to class." She replies with a straight face.
"Are you mad at me?" I ask as I notice she's not even looking towards me.
"No." She replies and walks away, and I can tell she's pissed. Well, I can understand why she's pissed, but friends should support each other, right? That means that if she knew I found out where I belong, she should help me not get pissed. I know what I'm doing isn't right, but it does feel right. After all, life is all about learning, right? I don't mind falling and making mistakes and learning, sounds fun, but away from school.
My thoughts were cut off by a loud voice shouting at me, after a couple seconds I realize what he had said.
"Are you blind?!" He shouts at me, his eyebrows knitted and his facial expressions exploding with anger.
I feel surprised when I find out I've left the bottle opened and spilled water on this guy's shirt.
"I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that." I say as I take out some tissues for him from my bag.
"Yeah yeah, you didn't fucking mean it. Stupid people annoy me. I don't want your tissues." He says as he pushes my hand away and looks down at my with annoyance.
"So rude." I whisper as I walk away.
"I see what you did there." My best friend says and catches up to walk next to me. He grabs the water bottle and drinks the last sip left.
"Leave me alone Harry, it seems like a bad day already." I say as he places his arm around my shoulder in a friendly way but I remove it. "And keep your arm for yourself."
"Someone's upset." He speaks in a singsong and I just lift my eyebrow at him then look back on the floor.
"Patty's mad at me, and you saw what happened with that guy, and we have history now and ugh. I hate my life." I say in a low voice as we walk through the corridor towards our next class, and I don't even eye contact with him.
"You're gonna be fine, and Patty can't stay mad at you for a long time, you know her well. And about that guy, just ignore him. And history class, we can just spend time texting or so, I'm really sleepy anyway." He says as he yawns then smiles softly. I loved how he never failed to make me smile, he's the perfect friend.
"Thank you." I smile back at him and he smiles wider.
"That's my girl." He says as he pats me on the back hardly.
"Ouch," I say as I smack him on the shoulder. "Be careful next time."
"Okay okay." He says, trying to silence his laugh as we enter class, and as usual, we're late.
