"So, have you started studying for tomorrow's test already?" Patricia asks as we lean against our locker and watch people flood the halls.

"Yeah, I think I studied well. I won't need much studying tonight," I say with a smirk and a sigh follows her smile.

"Lucky. Nick and I spent four hours on the phone last night and when I hung up, I realized it was already midnight so I didn't have much time to study," She explains and my eyes widen.

Four hours.

Let that sink in.

"What did you talk about?" I ask, watching her cheeks turn a rosy pink as she lets out a giggle.

"Well he kept telling me how he felt this whole time while we were apart and how he and Christina constantly fought over us and how I'm much more beautiful than she is and he's just so perfect. I cried." She stammers and I mirror the little smile on her face as she continues talking.

I wouldn't doubt for a second that she actually did cry.

I notice Harry's figure approaching us in the distance and smile before turning back Patty.

"He told me that the day we broke up, he spent the whole night crying. He didn't want to eat or drink or sleep or anything. That's why he used to look so pale and tired all the time. And he told me that Christina was always jealous of me because he still had my contact named "Bae" with a heart emoji and he's just so cute, isn't he?" She says as she bats her long eyelashes a couple times and tilts her head so I came into view.

"Well, yes," I nod. "But he wasn't exactly being a good boyfriend to Christina," I state and her jaw unlatches as she raises both eyebrows at me.

"Don't you remember how crap she treated him freshman year? When she slapped him in front of the entire class and stuff? He was probably getting his revenge. I don't know." She shrugs.

"Still..doesn't seem loyal to me," I mimic her actions and she rolls her eyes, letting out an annoyed huff before she turns around and opens her locker.

With my gaze still fixated on Harry, I watch him stop once reaching a dirty blonde and a small smile plays on his lips.

Damn you Miranda.

Get lost.

I watch them talk and laugh, exchanging genuine smiles here and there as my heart sinks further and further into my chest.

I know things between us won't be the same after what happened yesterday, but that doesn't mean he can just go back to Miranda and ignore me for four classes straight.

I can't stand it.

"Eve, take your books out. Harry's a lost cause," she says, shaking her head as she follows the cookie crumb trail my eyes left his way and slams her locker shut.

I wish Miranda was a lost cause.

"Why don't you believe in me?" I pout my bottom lip, getting a scoff out of her. "I can fix this," I mumble trying to convince myself more than her.

"Besides he hasn't cancelled Friday, has he?" I shrug as I pull out my book and close the locker shut with a sigh.

"Why don't you just walk up to him and smash your lips against his?" She asks like it's just that easy.

"Patty, I can't do that. I'm not even sure he actually meant to kiss me. I mean we were really close and then he jus-" She interrupts me.

"Yeah yeah, you'll find more excuses if you try hard enough, but Eve, he loves you. It's all in the eyes babe," She shrugs and folds her arms.
