I groan myself awake, hitting snooze for what is probably the fifth time this morning.

I sigh, pushing the warm covers off my body as I blindly unlock my cell; the screen way too bright for my groggy state.

When I finally open my eyes and face the screen, I realize it's already 7:45.

Not too bad.

Wait don't I have something I needed to do tod-

Oh my god my exam!

"I shouldn't have stayed up all night studying," I huff out loud as I spring off the bed and roll out a random pair of jeans and a graphic tee without a glance at either and sprinting to the bathroom for a quick shower.

I probably won't even dry my hair afterwards, I'll just wear a beanie or something.

I slip into the ripped denim jeans and the over sized t-shirt, realizing it's an old shirt of Evan's that I'd borrowed ages ago. It's not in bad condition so I'm not going to bother changing it.

I head back to my room for my backpack and review sheets that were sprawled all over the floor and carelessly stuff them into my bag. I grab my phone and hurry downstairs.

When I look around, I notice the emptiness surrounding me.

They've all probably already left. I'm too late.

I sigh, pulling my keychain from my backpack and lace up my knock off black vans then lock the house behind me.

I unlock the car and by the time I'm ready to pull out it's already 8:02.

I gasp, jetting to school, feeling absolutely insane for driving with such speed in a quiet neighbourhood like mine.

Once I arrive at school, I eagerly scan the lot for a place to park, but every spot is taken.

I groan noticing a single open spot at the end of the adjacent street.

It's only getting worse. Why's it only getting worse?

I park, locking the doors and quickly running toward the building. I struggle throwing my backpack over my shoulder, the keys in my hand sharp against my skin.

I swear if Mr Brown doesn't let me in I'm gonna scream.

I speed walk through the empty halls and run up the stairs faster than I ever thought I could.

As I reach the classroom, I take in a deep shaking breath before knocking on the door.

"Carlton, I could've predicted that," I hear Mr Brown poke fun and a few muffled giggles erupt as he opens the door for me.

"I pray every night that I don't get you next year," he whispers loud enough for the class to hear and a few scoffs sound. I roll my eyes and he sighs.

"Get in," He says as I watch him pick up a few papers and hand me an exam.

I look over the paper as I reach my desk and search my backpack for a pencil.

By the time I'm done raiding my bag, I remember that I'd left my pencils all over the floor and curse lightly under my breath.

"Harry," I whisper, leaning my head back so he could hear me. "I need a pencil. Do you have an extra on you?"

I let out a deep huff when he doesn't respond.

"Is the exam really that hard, Carlton?" Mr Brown cocks an eyebrow and I shake my head, biting down on my bottom lip as I resist the urge to send Harry the deadliest glare.
