It wasn't until the clock stroke six had I started sifting through my closet for an outfit.
I wasn't planning on wearing anything special since it's Jake which isn't exactly something to look forward to.
Now that I think about it, I'm not really sure why I agreed on going anywhere with him. I was just disappointed and hurt and upset. It's all Harry's fault.
If I could go back in time, I'd take it all back because right about now the nerves were kicking in and my conscience is on full blast.
I take out a black pair of jeans and a sleeveless black blouse peppered with white polka dots and pull them on. I then apply a light coat of mascara and some colorless lip balm and pull my hair into a high pony tail before laying down and waiting on Jake.
I've been paranoid ever since he told me he knew my address. I kept looking behind me on my drive here and I've closed every set of blinds since coming home.
I should really take Jake more seriously. He's got connections, but I can't help wonder what else he's capable of.
A light knock on my door alerts me back to my senses.
I sigh, telling myself to relax. It's probably just mum or Evan.
Oh wait, scratch that, mum isn't home.
It's probably just Evan.
Unless it's Harry, but he wouldn't have the nerve.
"It's me. Open the door," I breath out in relief at the familiar voice as I pick myself off the bed and open the door.
"You could've just opened the door yourself," I say and he chuckles with a shrug as he steps into the room.
He's wearing a light blue button-up and black skinny jeans. Dad's cologne infiltrates my senses and I frown, knowing he's stolen it from dad's closet, but decide to just drop it knowing I want a part of him too.
"So," I start, laying back on bed. "What do you want?"
"Where's Harry?" He interrogates with a certain hesitance settling into his voice as he sits at the edge of the bed.
"I don't know..something about basketball with friends or some house party or something," I shrug with a sigh and Evan pouts his bottom lip.
"Is everything okay?" He asks searching my dull eyes for answers.
"Just a bit disappointed, but it's fine. I'm going out anyway," I tell him and he nods, before freezing and narrowing his eyes at me.
"Who are you going out with if Harry's with his friends?" He asks and I roll my eyes again.
"I can go out with other people, can't I? I'm not on house arrest," not yet anyway.. "and Mr. Styles sure as hell isn't my security," I retort, but he keeps the questioning expression on his face despite the booming laugh.
"Well are you like dating someone?" He asks with a raised eyebrow, causing me to break into a fit of laughter.
"Do you even know me? Just dinner with a friend," I clear up and he nods then stands up.
"Who's the friend?" He turns back to me and I groan before answering.
"His name's Jake, know him now? No, I don't think so. So stop annoying me," I whine and he laughs through his gritted teeth.
"Well, take care," He sighs, giving me a little peck on the cheek. "I'm going to spend the night at Leanna's."
"Please don't get her pregnant," I giggle and he smirks, rolls his eyes.
