It's been ten weeks since Korra opened the portal, and it has been non-stop press, meetings and regular visits to the portal site to make sure everything was still calm and safe. Korra didn't dare step foot inside, not without Asami.

Every day Korra is busy and working, but every evening she gets to go home to the most beautiful, wonderful woman she has the pleasure of being with, her love for her growing every second of every day.

She was sitting across from Asami who was working diligently at her desk, looking over documents and catching up on product rates and Korra waited patiently as always.

Asami stood from her desk and Korra was at her side instantly, earning a glare from her girlfriend, "Korra, the cast has been off for a week now, I'm healed already. Stop babying me."

Korra bit her lip, knowing she had been overbearing through this whole healing journey of hers, but she couldn't help it. Asami was her world and she had no control over her protectiveness.

"I know, I'm sorry. . ." Korra took a step back, allowing Asami to walk around her, heading for the door but Korra stayed right on her tail, calculating every step before Asami turned around unexpectedly, once again giving her the evil eye.

"Korra," She warned, raising a brow.

"I know, I know. . ." Korra took a few steps back, head down, staring at her feet. She knows she's hovering, she's just worried. Asami has had a handful of accidents while her cast was still on, so her being out of Korra's sight makes her nervous.

Asami took a step closer, lifting her chin, her eyes warming, "I appreciate you, and I love you, but stop following me around like this, it makes me feel like a child."

Korra nodded, not entirely happy with her words, and also not trusting herself to speak in fear of upsetting Asami. There have been a few times when Asami has snapped at Korra, the cast and injury bothering her more than Asami cared to admit, but she always felt guilty, and Korra always stayed patient.

Korra stood there awkwardly, waiting for Asami to leave, but the CEO huffed out, grabbing Korra's face, bringing their lips together in a surprising kiss.

Pulling away, Asami grinned at Korra's now flushed face, "I'm going to my lab to work on some things before I get ready. Go shower and change, the others will be here soon. I'll be fine."

"Okay, just be care-"

Asami's eyes darkened in annoyance.

"Um, I mean. . . I hope you make progress and invent. . . well," Korra said instead, before turning and rushing down the hall to their room, sighing once the door was closed.

Naga lifted her head up from where she lay on the floor, "Naga, Asami is kind of scary sometimes."

Asami sighed in relief when she was left alone in her lab, instantly smiling when she went over to what she's been working on for weeks. She has struggled to make any real progress on it with Korra always with her, and she loves her to pieces, but Asami wants to surprise her with this project, she doesn't want Korra to know yet and it's a very much needed break whenever she manages to slip away.

The project was so close to being finished, there were few things left to add to it. She was going to present it tonight to Korra, in front of everyone, her family.

After she added the final touches which didn't take long at all, she secured it and stored it temporarily until it was time and decided to head upstairs to start getting ready. She noticed Korra's bedroom door was open and dimly lit.

Asami's eyebrows knitted in confusion, wondering why Korra was in the room she no longer sleeps in, they share one now.

Pushing on the door slowly, she noticed Korra was writing something down on a piece of paper, with several others scattered around her crumpled up. Her hand paused above the piece she was holding before she scoffed, crumpling up that one as well, adding it to the mess, before running her hand through her hair in frustration. She was upset and Asami was very curious as to what she was doing.
