"You know, this actually isn't that bad," Korra licked her fingers, eating the last bite of the pastry she bought at the bakery with Asami who nodded smugly.
"I told you," Asami grinned.
"Okay, well who puts dark purple food dye in a dessert? It looked gross!" Korra exclaimed.
"Looks can be deceiving, and now look at you. You love it," Asami smiled pridefully.
Korra shook her head in amusement, eyeing the last bit of Asami's pastry. Asami only chuckled reaching out to place it in Korra's mouth, whose eyes lit up excitedly, opening up and biting into it, closing her eyes in bliss.
"Amazing," She said, her mouth full.
The couple walked together down the street, going nowhere in particular. Asami had just left Varrick's lab after being cooped up with her work for hours, elated when Korra showed up to whisk her away for the day.
"How long has it been since you last seen Tenzin?" Asami asked curiously, knowing how close Korra was to his family.
Korra sighed, "Too long, I need to take a trip up there at some point and show my face. I heard they returned from their search for more airbenders a week or two ago."
"When will you go?"
Korra shrugged, "I don't know. I've been enjoying my time with you, not much is happening."
"When you go, I can come with you. See Pema and the kids, I miss them."
"That sounds like a great idea," Korra smiled pulling Asami closer, "I know Meelo would be so happy to see your fa-"
Before the avatar could finish her sentence, a vertical rock shot out of the ground right at her chest, throwing Korra back roughly. Before she hit the ground, she bent the air around her body putting herself on the ground gently, looking for the source of the attack, rubbing her chest in discomfort.
"Korra!" Asami ran to her, but a wall of water ran across the street, separating the two. Asami glared at the assailant, getting into a fighting pose, ready for an attack.
"What do we have here?" The water-bending woman asked, looking at Asami evilly, "Is this her?"
The earthbender who attacked Korra nodded, "Yeah that's her, the engineer, the boss wants her and the avatar."
The woman rolled her eyes, "The avatar? Why?"
"As motivation for Miss Sato to do what needs to be done," The man grinned.
The woman shrugged, "Sounds easy enough."
Another attacker grabbed Asami from behind, but she whipped her head back, hearing a sickening crack, extending her leg, knocking him onto the ground roughly.
Just then, an air tunnel formed through the wall of water the woman had created, Korra jumped through furiously, immediately throwing fireballs at her. While the two fought, Asami ducked as the earth bender swung out to hit her. She quickly reached into her bag, pulling out her electric glove, putting it on swiftly.
The earth bender took a step back, knowing about Asami's famous weapon.
Asami raised a brow, "So you know what this is, huh?"
His lip twitched in anger and she advanced him, dodging his swings, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the man while Korra and the woman fought on the side, using their elements to fend each other off.
"Who are you?!" Korra asked, blasting the woman back with air watching her body roll on the ground after her hard landing.
She stumbled, standing up with a smirk, "Someone who has orders to take you and your pretty little girlfriend in. You're part of a bigger plan."
