My brother Ashton has promised me for weeks now that he come to see me opening for The 1975 while they were in Australia.
They asked me to support them and I literally screamed. I absolutely love them and it was an honour to be asked to support them. (Idk of you like this band but it's just for the preference).
I stood backstage waiting to go on and I had a mix of fear, anxiety and excitement running though me.
I looked out and Ashton wasn't there yet. He'll turn up don't worry. He promised and he wouldn't miss it for the world.
I heard screaming and suddenly realised it was time for me to go onstage. I went onstage and performed 7 songs. 3 of them being covers and 4 being originals I wrote myself in my free time with the help of Ashton the odd time.
I kept looking out for Ash the whole time but I never saw him. I hoped he maybe would have been backstage waiting for me when I got off but nope. It dawned on me then. He forgot.
I called Ash after my set and waited for him to pick up.
"Hey Allie. Where are you?"
"Oh you know, just opened for The 1975. Nothing much."
"Oh shit Allie. I'm so sorry. Le-"
"Save it Ash."
I came home the next day and Ash was sitting on the couch watching TV. I went up to my room to chill before tonight's show. There was a knock on the door.
"If it's Ash, go away."
"Allie I'm sorry okay? I got caught up at the studio with the new album and everything and then I went out for food with the guys and I lost track of time. I'm really sorry. And to make it up to you bringing you to Olive Garden and I've gotten you tickets to Came As Romans.
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah."
"OH MY GOD ASH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!" I ran and tackled him in a hug.
"I'm sorry Allie."
"It's okay. I love you and I'm sorry too."
"No you're not the one who's supposed to be sorry I am. And I love you too."
"You're the best big brother anyone could ask for."
"I try." He said winking.
I playfully punched his shoulder and rolled my eyes. He really was amazing.
