Your POV
Our daughter Katie was out at a party tonight for her friends 16th birthday. because she really wanted to go and only because her friend was going with her. She wouldn't go on her own. Shes a good child. But she's been out for ages and my husband Ashton and I have been getting worried about her. Her curfew was at 10 its now 10:45.
Two minutes later Katie walked through the door and she looked sober. Well that's good. She'll be her normal happy self in the morning.
Ashton stood up and confronted her.
"Where have you been young lady?! Your mother and I have been worried sick about you!!!"
"Dad i-" he didn't even let her finish. "Go to your room. Your grounded for a month." "Dad let me expla-" "KATIE AMBER IRWIN! GO TO YOUR ROOM! YOU ARE GROUNDED FOR A MONTH!!!!"
"Fine!! Don't let me explain!!!! Maybe you would understand if I told you but no you won't let me explain!!! I hate you dad!!!" Katie ran off to her room and slammed the door. I flinched when I heard it slam.
I looked at Ashton. He looked like he had just been shot multiple times. I walked over and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Ash, babe are you ok?" I asked removing my hands from his back and resting them on his chest. Ashton just backed away and walked to the door and walked out closing the door gently behind him.
I sighed heavily. I walked up to Katie's room and knocked on her door. "Katie? Can I come in?" I heard her footsteps and then the door opened. Katie stood there with tear stained cheeks. I gave her a hug. "I'm sorry mom, I was just mad because dad wouldn't let me explain what happened."
"It's ok baby just tell me what happened."
"Well when the party was over at quarter to ten but then Jessica got a text from her mum saying that her granny was rushed into hospital." She looked up at my face. "Her granny is ok though." She said as if she was reading my mind. "So then I had to drive her to the hospital. And she wanted me to stay there until she had to go home. I would have texted you if I knew I'd be there for that long. Im sorry mom."
"It's ok baby girl just remember to text next time ok?" I said kissing her forehead.
We both went downstairs and then my phone started ringing. It was Luke.
Y - You. L - Luke
Y - hey Luke
L - Hey Kira Ashton's here is everything ok?
Y - Really ok yeah everyryhings fine tell him to come home please thanks Luke.
L - ok Kira he's on his way. No problem bye!
Y - bye thanks again
10 minutes later
The front door opened. Katie ran to her dad. "Dad I'm so sorry I don't hate you its just I was mad cause you didn't let me explain."
"Its ok baby girl. I'm sorry for not listening to you. Will you explain now?"
After Katie explained the story to Ashton and he gave her a giant hug. "I'm sorry baby girl. I love you." "I love you too dad."
They went upstairs together. I stayed down and watched TV for a while until I went to bed. I looked in Katie's door and there they were.
Ashton had his arms wrapped protectively around her and she had her head resting on his chest. They were both lying down on top of the sheets and their legs were tangled together. I walked in kissed both their foreheads and went to sleep in mine and Ashton's room.
I loved my two babies so much and nothing was going to change that.
