Luke and I are going on a date today. It's  almost Christmas, and it's snowing quite a bit. It's not heavy but it's slowing building up to be a few inches. But Luke and I love the winter time. This is our fifth Christmas together as a couple.

It's a tradition for us to go to a café, get hot chocolate, and then go to a book store, and then we decorate the tree. I don't know why, but we just did it one year and decided to keep with the tradition.

Luke and I got up pretty late as we usually do and ate breakfast together. Then we had showers and stuff, getting ourselves ready to go.

Luke's POV

I waited for Y/n to leave the room after getting ready before I opened the drawer of the dresser on my side of the bed before checking that the bauble was still in the desk. It was. I opened it and the ring was in it. Thank god. I'm going to hand this "ornament" to her later when we're decorating the tree.

"Luke honey are you okay? You coming?" Y/n's voice called. "Yeah sorry babe I'm coming now I just had to go to the toilet real quick." I said, as I met her at the bottom of the stairs.

"You men and your bladders." She joked. "Hey rude." I said, poking her side making her laugh. "Let's go." She said, and headed out the door. I locked up and followed her outside to the car. She took the car keys before she left the house and had unlocked the car. I got into the drivers' seat and started the car. I pulled out and drove into the town.

Your POV:

Luke and I arrived into town within 15 minutes and went to a public car park and parked. We got out and put back on our jacket. "Okay, let's start our adventurous day!!" I said excitedly, and Luke took my hand, and we headed towards the café. We went in and Luke told me to take a seat while he ordered the hot chocolates. After placing the order he came over and sat across from me. "So, how are the boys anyway? It's been ages since I've seen them." I asked Luke. "They're really good. Maybe we should have them over for a bit over Christmas?" Luke suggested. "Yeah that's a good idea. I haven't seen Crystal (no bad comments about this please), Kaitlin or Emma either in ages. We keep saying we'll meet up but we never do." I laughed.

A barista came over with our hot chocolates in takeaway cups and there were two cookies in a bag too. That's a cool thing about this café, if you order hot chocolate you get a free cookie. The cookies are amazing. They're always warm and chewy.

We took a cup each and Luke held the cookies in his hand and we said one last thank you before we left and headed to the bookstore, eating cookies on the way.

I still had some presents to get for my family and stuff and I was going to get the girls presents too. Kaitlin, Emma, my mom and sister love reading so I took going to the bookstore as a chance to buy them a book they might like.

We spent a few hours in the book store and then decided to head home. We stopped by the supermarket to buy some food for the house and then went home.

We unpacked the food, putting it away and then I made some lunch. I made a noodle dish and then divided it between to bowls. "Luke honey food's ready." I said, walking into the living room, where Luke was sprawled on the couch, mindlessly going through the channels. "Ooh smells good babe." I handed him one of the bowls, and we ate in comfortable silence, and then eventually settled on a channel that was showing Friends. Classic.

The evening came and Luke was getting a little fidgety. "You okay? Do you have pains in your stomach?" I asked, worried. He would usually start fidgeting when he got stomach aches and that usually meant he was coming down with something. "No no I'm okay." He said, smiling. "Okay." I said smiling at him.

"How about we break the tradition, and go for dinner tonight?" Luke asked. "Why the sudden desire to change?" I asked, intrigued. "I don't know, but it's almost Christmas and I'm sure you don't want to cook today." He said, running his fingers through my hair.

"Yeah, you're right. Sure, let's do it." I smiled. "Okay. Let's get the decorations up and then we can go for dinner." I nodded and we headed to the spare room where we kept the decorations during the year. We started with the small things around the house like tinsel and ornaments, and did the tree last. "I'll be back in one second." Luke said after we had the tree standing. "You start putting the baubles on and when I come back I'll give you a hand." I nodded, and he kissed my forehead and went upstairs.

I kept putting the baubles on the tree and was so busy that I didn't hear Luke come down until there was a cough behind me. I turned around and Luke took the bauble I had in my hand and put it on the table, now taking my free hand. He got down on one knee and I knew what was happening, and my eyes started to well up. "I am not good with speeches. But I know that I love you a lot, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and to keep up with this tradition as a couple. Will you marry me Y/n?" He finished, looking at me. The ring was absolutely gorgeous and it was sitting in a box in the shape of a bauble, perfect timing.

I couldn't get words out so I nodded, smiling. He stood up, putting the ring on the table, and hugged me tight. "I love you." He said into my neck. "I love you too." I replied. He pulled away and he put the ring on my finger. I watched as he put it on my finger and then stared at it before he pulled my chin up slightly to kiss me. Then he pulled me into his arms again.

I really hope you enjoyed :) xx
