I made my way down the street, my head still trying to wrap around this stupid situation. I thought he would've been happy, and excited for me. But I guess he really doesn't want me making music. It doesn't matter what he says, I'm going to continue whether he likes it or not. I came to the bus stop and waited patiently, then when the bus arrived I went to the top and sat contently. I knew where I was going, to tell someone they were right all along.
I got off the bus in the middle of downtown Liverpool. I rubbed my arms as a breeze past through and looked up at the club that was in front of me. I ducked in and it was soothing, not loud and outgoing. On stage, a girl with long curly blonde hair, a tight black dress to her knees, and heels that seemed to make the biggest statement out pf everything else. Though, her voice was diva like, powerful, something that makes you stop and admire.
Though, along with her was some old friends. Larry, Roger and Will. I made my way closer to the front and locked eyes with Larry, he raised his eyebrows and then gave me a warm smile which caught the attention of Will, who looked but scowled. I waited, and the show ended. I sat at a table circling the rim of my drink as people started leaving. Soon Larry walked up, and sat across from me. Looking up my expression didn't change, then I looked back down.
"Will wants me to ask why you're here," Larry spoke
"Well hello to you too," I sighed to myself
"Come on, what happened?" Larry asked
"I came here to tell Will that he was right, Johns no good for me," I shrugged biting my lip in attempt to stop threatening tears from spilling, Larry looked at me and took my hand in his
"What happened between you two?" Larry questioned
"I got a manager, and a record deal. John just so happens to have both of those too. When I told him he got all upset said either I give up the record contract or me and him are over," I explained and Larry raised a brow
"But that's all you've ever wanted,"
"I know."
Larry sighed "I'll got get Will," I nodded and Larry went backstage
I waited for a little while, the club was much more quiet then before. People contently chatted amongst themselves and I couldn't help but worry. What would Will say to me? Would he even talk to me? Before I could come to a conclusion, they had already walked back up to the table.
"I told him what happened," Larry spoke and I kept my eyes to my drink
"I told you he wasn't good enough for you," Will spoke sitting across from me
"I really thought he loved me, I thought we could've made it work. If he can't support me in trying to achieve something I love then why should I do the same?" I said with a single tear finally winning and running down my cheek
"I know love," Will wiped my cheek and sighed
"I guess I should've listened to you, and not some bloke that caught my attention with a pretty face," I shrugged
"Come on Ruthy, let's go talk to him.
," Will said
"That's not a good idea," I shook my head, looking up to meet Larry's eyes
"Shes right Larry, he's the last person I want to talk to," Will grimaced
"I've had a long day, I think it's best I head home anyways," I spoke, rubbing my eyes that we're already stained with smudged mascara
"Okay, see ya soon Ruth," Larry said rubbing my back
As they both walked back stage, I downed the rest of my drink leaving money on the table and headed out of the club. My head pounded and my eyes were sore, I'd rather be shot then live another minute of today.
