I looked to John, then back to Will on the ground. I had to choose, whether I wanted to go with John or with Will. It seemed stupid, why couldn't I get along with Will while being with John? Why couldn't they set aside their egos and issues, be in the same room without wanting to kill one another? Seemed like a far fetched kind of question.

"Don't you dare fuckin' walk off with that bastard," Will spat touching his jaw

"Leave the fucker alone, Ruth." John growled

"Why do I have to choose?" I asked rubbing my face in frustration

"Ruth," Larry said softly

"What?"

"You choose were you want to go, by what you think not what they think."

I looked at Larry, his eyes met mine and there was nothing but pure stress behind those eyes. Everyone was being effected by this in their own way, my decision could cut the chord between this feud.

"I don't know," I blurted out finally

"Take him, Ruth, I can do without you," Will spoke, getting up and looking John in the eye, then started to walk off. Larry looked from me to Will, giving me one more glance at his eyes before following behind Will.

I looked up at John, he gave me a sympathetic look then looked back to the boys. They looked from John to me and nodded, starting their way home. My eyes has now darted in the direction Will and Larry left in, my heart was slowly sinking and my mood only plummeted further down.

"Ruth," He started

"Shhh, be quiet" I hushed, sitting down on the grown and resting my head against the wall. He sat next me and sighed, looked back at me.

"Listen,"

"No, no, hush John," I said softly

"Fine."

We sat in the alley, it got darker and darker. But I didn't want to move. It was peaceful for once within these last few months. We sat in comfortable silence, I didn't bother to move or shirt positions; not even when my eyelids began feeling heavy.

"Okay, I'm done waiting," John stood up and grabbed my hand pulling me to my feet.

"Stop," I whined

"Ruth, we've been in this alley for hours, it's almost two in the morning,"

"How do you know?" I asked

"There's a clock over there," He sighed

"John," I sighed wrapping my arm around his torso

"Come on, I'll take you to my place. It's easier then walking you home and back." He kissed my head and we started to walk.

We reached John's flat and entered quietly, I went into his bedroom while he stayed out in the living room for a couple minutes, doing whatever it was that he does. I flopped on the exhausted, feeling as though nothing could move me. When I started to drift off, happily surrounded by the smell of John that was rubbed off on his bed sheets, the bedroom door opened and closed.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all this tonight," He apologized walking over to his closet

"I guess it was my fault, I should have told Will right away," I sighed

"You'll be okay without him," John said throwing one of his shirt at me

"What's this for?" I asked

"Something to sleep in," He shrugged taking his own shirt off

I laughed, raising my eyebrows as he threw his shirt towards a dirty pile next to his bed, earning another one of his eye rolls. I took my own dress off then slipped johns shirt over my shoulders buttoning it up, then spun to him and he smirked.

"Attractive," he chuckled

"Thanks," I smiled cheekily

"Come on, bedtime," He snapped his fingers towards the bed and I sat on it, he went over to his desk and sat down

"Aren't you coming?" I asked

"I will, I have stuff to finish," he answered

"Here," I grabbed his glasses and walked over to him, placing them on his face

"Thanks," He smiled, I gave him a kiss then walked back towards his bed, getting under the covers and closing my eyes softly

"John," I whispered

"What?" He asked, not turning away from his desk

"I love you,"

"I love you too."

Later on, John turned the lights out and got in next to me. He wrapped his arm around me bringing myself closer to him. I took his hand and held it close to me. It was a better way to end the night, I realized John meant more to me.
