This was it! The Great Vacker Gala! Biana was jumping around with excitement, literally. The brunette was running around in a blur of teal and blue, preparing for the party. All these years, her mum had been organizing the parties. The same thing every time. She didn't mean to criticize her mother's parties, she just thought it was time for something new.
Balloons on the rails, a grand hall for dancing, a chandelier on top. She sighed. It was going to be perfect!
"Woah, racehorse. Slow down! If this isn't the best party, no one will stop talking to you or something." Biana's brother was so annoying. Why couldn't he help her?
"Okay Fitz. I'm just gonna come out here, this is why Sophie doesn't like you. I mean, she's my BFF! If you help me make it the best party..."
Fitz's face became determined. "What do I need to do?"
Biana smiled. She had just figured out how to control her brother.
Same day : Havenfield : 10:30 a.m.
Sophie packed her satchel. She was going to visit Keefe. Her true love, who was currently in the hospital. He had a huge scar through his stomach which Elwin was going to fix today. This was all the Neverseen's fault. If they could just be good little elves...
She groaned just thinking about it. "You ready, kiddo?" Grady called.
"Ready!" Sophie grabbed her satchel and headed to the Leapmaster.
"Splendor Planes!" She shouted. The rush always startled her. Her stomach lurched forward and her head spinned sideways. But, it was worth it. For Keefe.
She finally reached the clinic and saw a shirt-less Keefe reading a book.
"Hey." he said. Though she was too busy staring at his torso. Seriously? Why was he naked? That only made him more attracting...
"What's up?" Keefe repeated, staring into Sophie's honey-brown eyes. My hair's not perfect, I didn't clean my body, I ate a weird smelly blob this morning! Breath! Why did Sophie have to look utterly beautiful and perfect when I'm utterly disgusting and ugly?!
"Nothing, I just wanted to give you this." Sophie handed him an envelope. She had written him a letter. A letter explaining everything. She was worried if Elwin did something wrong and Keefe not pulling through... she couldn't lose him without- without knowing that he had a lover somewhere in this world. Even if he didn't love her back.
"Ok, Keefe. This is the last visitor? Sorry Soph, your going to have to get out. His operation is taking action right now."
Sophie hesitated. "Just, promise me you'll read the letter first." she said.
"Cross my heart and hope to die, poke a needle in my eye, I, Keefe Sencen, swear that I'll read your beautiful, pink love letter first." Keefe joked. But Sophie didn't have a catchy comeback, or a swear. Because it was true. And it was pink...
Keefe's smile faded as Sophie walked out of the room. Sophie wasn't sure if he would live or die. She just hoped he would be okay. Empty promises, broken hearts, scarred and scraped body. That was love brought along with it. But it also got joint hearts, repaired minds, and starting again.
"Sophie," Keefe stopped her before she left. "we have two eyes, two ears, two kidneys, but only one heart."
Sophie gasped. "That's because we're supposed to find the other one."
And with that, Elwin ushered her out. That was the last she saw of Keefe Sencen.
