Sophie feels different. But, no, how can she. It was probably something that was happening with her - like puberty. But no. Her body was following a prophecy. She's joined the Neverseen's ranks and become the princess of the Lost Cities. Keefe Sence...
"Hey, Sophie. If blushing were a talent, you would already be on the council." Keefe said, making her blush even more. Something she thought wasn't possible.
They had all gathered in Havenfield to discuss plans. But Keefe wasn't being serious.
"Can you please be serious, Keefe?" Sophie asked, trying to get back to her normal skin colour.
"I am being serious. Seriously awesome."
Sophie giggled. Of course he was awesome. And kind, fearless, funny, handsome, cute, flirty, sexy- oK sToP!!!
"Ok, stop, Keefe..." Fitz said.
"Aww, poor Fitzy. You know if we combine your brains and my looks, we would still be missing common sense."
The whole group burst out laughing. Except, of course, Fitz, he just groaned. Sophie touched him on the shoulder to comfort him. That made Keefe's brain go on a spiral. What is she really didn't like him. What is his stupid heart was going on a holiday with her and imagining them kissing.

He wanted to ignore the stupid image that popped into his mind. But, he couldn't. Because he really wanted this. He also knew the truth. She was never going to like him. Fitz was there. He could give Sophie more than he ever could.
"KEEFE!!!" Sophie shrieked, turning Grady's head towards her and him. "What happened? One minute you were joking and the next you completely zoned out."
"Sorry, I was... thinking..."
"Wow, that's new!" Fitz said, hoping for a few laughs, but Keefe just glared. He was the joker. At least Fitz could never steal that.
"Sheesh, guys..." Fitz said, glancing at Sophie, flashing his movie star smile, but she was more interested in Keefe. She had that small crinkle between her eyebrows too. Meanwhile, Sophie was thinking about the same thing.
Does Keefe feel like I like Fitz? Do I like Fitz? I know the competition and all that is on... but still. It was the right time to tell him how she felt, then. Hopefully, she wouldn't regret it...
"Hey, Keefe can I talk to you?" she said, a bit worriedly.
He sighed. "Sure..." Pretty sure he was about to get rejected. And she couldn't do it with Grady nearby. So, maybe just say later.
"Not right now, later I guess..." she replied... and all she got was another sulky "Sure..."
But, Biana got the courage to do something else. "I've had enough!" She got up and walked up to Dex.
"I thought you never liked me. And I thought you never will because I was a Vacker, and I had to uphold the Vacker legacy and I couldn't date somebody whose parents were a bad match. Well, I don't care, Dex. I love you. Like love love you."
She leaned closer, and closer and closer. Dex was a bit too ashamed to say anything, so he did what Keefe couldn't. He kissed her. If he couldn't be brave enough to tell Biana how he felt, he was fine that she did it. Even if it was in front of Sophie and Keefe. He didn't mind. As long as they kissed. And it was the longest one ever. And the best.
The soft press, the lip-gloss he tasted was strawberry flavoured. The final breath she breathed on her lips before she got pulled away by Fitz.
"That's enough of that... But, I'm glad you said it, B. I don't think I could bear anymore exaggerating how cute he was..."
