Chapter 15

Vee followed In to discuss business with JZ at a private reception table. JZ nodded with his hand, urging them to hurry. Vee nodded, a slight smile on his lips, a hallmark of his stoic demeanor that never betrayed his serious nature. As much as he wanted to focus on Mark, work was equally important. So, he decided to put matters of the heart on hold and deal with them after his work was done.

"What's important?"

"Just a little thing... But I heard that Mark arrived. Where did he go?" JZ asked casually, his tone slightly mocking, unable to help it. He knew Mark held a special place in Vee's life, but how special was still unclear. Vee, he rarely met placed much importance on anyone. His friend feared commitment and avoided long-term relationships at all costs. But if his hunch was correct, Mark might be more than just a close assistant.

"I let him find something to eat first." Vee replied, ignoring JZ's tone, his expression unreadable. He sat across from his wheelchair-bound friend, knowing from long association that JZ must have something important to discuss, hence why he'd sent his beloved boyfriend out to get him twice. JZ waited until his friend took a sip of his drink before getting to the point.

"I heard a little rumor... about Theeranai. Have you heard about it yet?"

"What's up with him?" Vee, who had been staring at Mark from a far, immediately turned around and narrowed his eyes as he asked. Vee had long since lost interest in Theeranai until he found out that Mark had been flirting with him for a while. Once he was sure that Mark was rid of that jerk, he let go of his watch.

"He's taken on a minor role in Lodge Industries, you know, your eternal rival..." Vee's jaw arched, but kept his composure, though he didn't feel calm inside. The words 'Lodge Industries' were like a vile disease, as disgusting as the name Theeranai. The outrageous stench was so strong that he wanted to vomit.

"Fei Long Lodge would be a good match for Theeranai. I'm not too surprised that two morons are human." Vee said sarcastically, shrugging as if he didn't care, but the smile that appeared was incredibly disdainful. He didn't care if those two bastards got along. If the bastard and the coward had now joined forces, they would form the ultimate team of flawless trash. If there was an award for the most outstanding asshole, he wondered which of the two would take home the title.

"It's bound to be a headache for you. Be prepared. Theeranai doesn't like me to be at peace. I've even gone to the extreme of taking Lodge to my camp. You're going to have a tough time." JZ said, looking quite concerned. Although he knew Vee was not someone who could be easily provoked, Fei Long Lodge's bad reputation was not to be taken lightly. Their influence and financial power in Singapore were significant, and lately, they had been expanding into mainland China. Thailand seemed to be their next target.
