Everywhere, Everything By Noah Kahan
Lana and Lando were sprawled across the couch at her house, the soft glow of the living room lights casting a cozy warmth over them. Lando had his arm wrapped securely around her, his thumb absentmindedly tracing patterns on her shoulder as she giggled at some dumb joke he'd made.
"You're ridiculous," she muttered, but her voice was full of affection, her nose nuzzling against his neck.
"You love it," Lando replied smugly, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
Their domestic bliss was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Lana shot upright, practically bouncing off the couch. "They're here!" she exclaimed, grinning like a kid on Christmas morning as she dashed toward the door.
Lando laughed, shaking his head as he stretched out on the couch, watching her open the door.
Standing outside were Max, Nat, and Theo, arms laden with snacks and drinks. Nat was practically glowing, Theo's hand lightly resting on her back as they all grinned at Lana.
"We come bearing snacks and chaos," Nat declared, holding up a bag of popcorn like it was a trophy.
Lana ushered them inside with a laugh. "You're all my favorite people right now. Except for you, Max," she teased.
Max, ever the jokester, clutched his chest dramatically. "Ouch, Red. That's going to take some time to heal."
Lana rolled her eyes fondly as they all filtered into the living room. Theo immediately took over setting up the snacks, and Nat plopped down onto the couch beside him, stealing a handful of popcorn from the bag he was opening.
Max, the lone wolf, claimed the comfiest chair for himself with a triumphant smirk. "You lot can keep your sappy couples' corners. This chair is the real MVP."
Lana and Lando settled back onto the couch together, and it wasn't long before Nat and Theo's affectionate antics caught Lana's attention. She furrowed her brow, glancing between them.
"Wait a second," she said, sitting up slightly. "When did this happen?"
Nat and Theo exchanged a quick glance before Nat grinned sheepishly. "So, funny story..."
Theo, ever the dramatist, clapped a hand to his heart. "You butt dialed us during your fight with Lando."
Lando froze, his cheeks heating up as he sat straighter. "Wait, what? You were listening to that?"
Nat nodded, her expression a mix of guilt and amusement. "Oh, yeah. Heard the whole thing. And guess what? You were totally right, Lana. This guy—" she jabbed a thumb at Theo, who looked entirely too smug—"is in love with me."
Theo leaned back, crossing his arms with a satisfied smile. "Guilty as charged."
Lana, far from horrified, grinned triumphantly. "I knew it."
Max, who had been munching on chips like it was the most entertaining show of his life, suddenly frowned. "Hold on, why didn't I get to hear the fight? This is outrageous. I demand a full recap."
Lando groaned, burying his face in his hands. "Oh my God, kill me now."
The room erupted into laughter, the kind of laughter that filled every corner of the space with warmth. Lana looked around, her heart swelling as she took in the sight of her closest friends and her new family all together.
Nat and Theo were playfully bickering over the last piece of candy. Max was tossing popcorn into the air and attempting to catch it in his mouth. And Lando—her Lando—was leaning back against the couch, looking at her with a soft, content smile that made her feel like the luckiest person in the world.
For the first time in what felt like forever, Lana felt truly at peace. Her life, messy and chaotic as it had been, had brought her here—to this moment, surrounded by love, laughter, and the people who mattered most.
She reached for Lando's hand, intertwining their fingers as she leaned her head against his shoulder. He pressed a gentle kiss to her temple, and she closed her eyes, letting the moment settle over her like a warm blanket.
And as the first movie began to play, Lana couldn't help but smile. This—this was everything she'd ever wanted. And for the first time, she was exactly where she belonged.
