~Stefan Salvatore's Point of View~
Since Aurelia and Cassandra left Mystic Falls with Edward and Elijah, the town has seen better days. Klaus had his way with the sacrifice to make him this ultimate hybrid. Damon and I thought it'd give us the chance to get rid of him, but he's still lingering around town. Most likely waiting for his noble brother to return so that he can put another dagger in his chest; I'm sure Cassandra won't be too thrilled with him about that.
Damon and I have tried everything to get him out of town, even offered to help him track down the missing doppelganger. Which hasn't turned out in our favor since she's been lurking around our house unannounced. It surprised all of us that she didn't run the second she got a whiff of Klaus. Katherine's waiting for the moment Aurelia sets foot in town.
Suddenly the front door swings wide open. "Katherine, it's really time that you get your own-" My eyes widen when I see Aurelia standing in front of me. "What are you doing here?" She laughs. "Thanks for the warm welcome, Salvatore. To think you were starting to become my favorite one." Something's off, she wouldn't come back home just by herself. "Don't get me wrong, we need you here, but we didn't expect to see you back so soon."
Aurelia walks over to the alcohol cabinet. "So, what's the rundown since I've been gone?" She pours herself a glass of bourbon, and instantly downs it. "I don't think you want to know...where are the others?" I raise my eyebrows redirecting the question to her. A part of me can't shake the thought that something bad happened while they were away. That something bad happened to Cassandra. If Elijah and her never loved each other, or maybe if we met in another life she would've chosen me. I would be the one she wanted to run away with. "Trust me, I want to know." She ignores my nagging question, avoiding any talk about the others. I glance at the glass she's pouring herself, and she pours me one as well, finally reading the room. "She's fine. How are things here?" She hands me the cup and I take it, but leave it untouched. I recap all of the things she's missed, about Klaus' plan, and Katherine's arrival. That was the most intriguing part for her to hear. Katherine and Aurelia haven't seen each other in centuries and now she's back in town. Not to mention she could walk in here at any second. We should honestly think about getting a human roommate, but Damon would have them dead in under 24 hours. Like he did with our uncle.
Aurelia chuckles learning about former best friend. "Decades later and she still never misses a beat." I nod in agreement. "So, what really brings you back to town, and suddenly drinking bourbon?" Before she can answer me, the front door swings open. In walks the annoying, blonde haired original that I've been trying to rid of for the past two months. "Just the brother I was looking for."
He stops in front of Aurelia. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure to meet you." He grabs Aurelia's hand to place a kiss onto it, but she quickly rejects him by pushing his face away. "Well, that my fellow comrade is because you've had your eye on the wrong prize." This isn't normal; Aurelia doesn't fraternize with the enemy, well unless it's Damon. "My deepest apologies."
He grins at Aurelia, who rolls her eyes. "What are you doing here, Klaus?" My tone is less welcoming than Aurelia's. "A man who gets to the point, I respect that." He continues to ramble. "And a clown who likes to ramble, not very insightful." She mocks his accent. I remain my composure at Aurelia's joke that I would usually laugh at. "I have a proposition for the two of you." Aurelia goes to say something, but Klaus raises his hand to stop her.
She rolls her eyes at his dismissiveness. "Why would I spend my precious time on some washed up original?" Her comebacks were always a reason I thought her and Damon jelled so well together. "Leverage, of course, Darling." Klaus always has something up his sleeve. "That leverage being?" Aurelia pushes. "Your brother and the boy you seem to have some sort of bemused affection for." Klaus taps the edge of Aurelia's nose, which she pretends to bite. "I could care less about some boy I had a blind schoolgirl crush on, you're going to have to try a lot harder than that, Jester."
