The following weeks to come were intense. Katherine had distanced herself from Emmett and her brother. Katherine would leave early to school on her motorcycle, leaving her brother behind. She stopped showing up at the waterfall to come get Emmett, Katherine was even avoiding Rosalie. She didn't even sit with her brother at lunch anymore becuase of this, Kol began sitting on the tables outside or in the computer room with Rosalie. Classmates began to talk, rumors began to spread. A rumor that Kol was ditching his sister to hangout with Rosalie, or a rumor that Rosalie stole Kol away from Katherine. It was near the middle of November and on this particular day, Kol decided to sit alone at lunch leaving Rosalie to sit with her siblings.
Rosalie was picking at her food, looking down. She felt bad for Emmett because since Katherine was avoiding him, the mate bond was starting to affect him. Rosalie knew it was his fault for his situation because he pushed Katherine to tell her darkest trauma but she still felt bad for him. Emmett was tense.

"Relax Emmett, she'll come around." Alice comforted

"You don't know that, you can't even see her decisions. Katherine is known for shutting people out when she loses trust in them. She doesn't trust me anymore." Emmett spoke

"I wonder why." Rosalie said quietly

"Hey, I know I fucked up. Okay, don't need to remind me." Emmett shot back

"You can still fix Emmett, don't give up." Jasper said

Just then, Kol walked through the double doors and scanned the room before his eyes fell on the Cullens. He looked directly at Rosalie and signaled for her to join him. Rosalie excused herself  and got up. Her siblings wondered what was going considering Kol said he wanted to be alone during lucnh.

"What do you think that was all about?" Edward asked

Out of frustration, Emmett snapped, "I don't know, why don't you read their minds and find out." he said, slamming his hand on the table before storming off

Emmett had very short when it came to Edward now a days, always snapping at him. Emmett was still mad at Edward and had not been able to forgive him since he took advantage of Katherine's weakend state and read her mind. Emmett's little outburst at lunch got the attention of some classmates near by. This only made the rumors worse. The rumor that Kol stole Rosalie away from Emmett. Edward on the other hand did his best to try and avoid Emmett or at least keep some distance between them. Edward could no longer look Emmett in the eyes anymore and would often coward away from him. Carlisle did his best to keep the peace but given he was away at work, it was usually Esme who kept the peace between the two.
The school day went on without any problems with the occasional rumor being spoken here and there. Edward, Rosalie, Alice and Jasper were already outside, waiting by their cars. Emmett was last to show up. The other siblings watched as Katherine took off on her motorcycle, leaving her brother behind again. When Emmett arrived, his siblings faced him. He went to open the passenger car door when Rosalie closed it.

"Rose, what's your deal?" Emmett asked with annoyance

"I'm sorry." was all Rosalie said

"Sorry about wh-." Emmett tried, only to be yanked by the back of the collar

"Come on big boy." Kol said as he pulled Emmett away from his siblings and towards his car

"Hey. What's going on? What are you doing?" Emmett asked as he struggled to get out of Kol grip
