The Reigning Sky

CHAPTER 3

"Sky you okay?" Ken asked. She was still in shock and couldn't believe what happened.

"Yeah, I'm good." She responded rubbing her arm. She was standing in the foyer of Kendall's 4 bedroom apartment on the upper east side of Manhattan. She looked around and wonder how he was able to afford this. She hadn't notice that Lauren was standing next to her until she spoke.

"Um, where's the bathroom?" Kendall looked at Lauren and wondered why his cousin was with her. He knew all about Lauren, she made a name for herself and not a good one.

"It's the second door on your right." He said dryly.

"Thanks" she winked at him and swayed her hips as she walked. Kendall didn't even pay her any attention.

"C'mon lets go to the living room." Him and Sky headed to the living room where Jayceon was on the phone. Jay hung up the phone angry. He just found out who was shooting at them at the club. He didn't even notice Sky sitting on the opposite couch.

"Yo Ken them niggas Ron and Mike coming through." He yelled. He hadn't even notice they were now in the living room.

"Aight. Jay I want you to meet my cousin Sky." He said calmly. Jay stood up and smiled showing his perfect pearly white teeth.

"Nice to meet you Sky. I'm Jay." He shook her hand. Sky was so much in shock she barely paid him any attention. She looked down at his hand and shook it.

"Nice to meet you too." She said looking up at him. She couldn't help but to look into his amazing grey eyes. They stared at each other for two seconds and looked away. Sky couldn't help but to wonder why she was attracted to a guy she barely even knew.

Lauren came out to the bathroom and walked towards the voices in the living room. She took a seat next to Sky. She wanted to know how she knew Kendall; one of the biggest Dope Kings in the streets of New York.

"Sky girl. How you know Kendall?" She whispered for only her to hear. Sky was beyond ready to go.

"Lauren can we just go. I'm ready to go home." Lauren took a deep breath. She was determined to find out.

"Alright, let's go." She got up and headed towards Ken. "Can I have my keys." She asked irritated by Sky. He handed them over without saying a word.

"Sky take my number." He said walking over to Sky. She pulled out her iPhone and stored his number into her phone.

"Make sure you call me. I cannot believe I have you back in my life." He said and kissed her on the forehead.

They headed towards the front door, Mike and Ron had arrived. "Go the fuck home Lauren." Mike yelled at her. He was irate and it was only because of her. She just looked at him confused but said nothing.

Mike headed to the bar and made himself a drink. "Man what's going on? Who was them niggas?" Kendall asked. He should've been upset that they ruined his birthday but he had Sky back in his life.

"Yo Ken. We don't even have beef with them niggas. They was shooting cause that bitch Lauren. I'm gonna kill her fam. It was them niggas Rico and Cam. Shorty been fucking around with Rico and I'm gonna kill her and that nigga." Mike took another shot of his drink.

"You mean to tell me that them niggas was shooting at us cause a bitch." Man dead that bitch and I mean it" Jay said with a serious tone. "As far as Rico and Cam, Ken you already know what to do." He continued looking at Ken and giving him dap. "Iight I'm out." Jay took one of Kendall's cars that was parked in the garage and headed home.

"Man fuck that. We need to celebrate your birthday fam." Ron said.

Kendall laughed and said "The party is over fam. Got business to handle."

Ron understood and dapped him then headed out. Mike followed him shortly after. Kendall was just grateful that he had Sky back in his life. They were more like brother and sister than cousins. Both were the only child and always had a bond that no one understood.
