The Reigning Sky

CHAPTER 13

Kendall walked up to the receptionist desk and asked when Sky Patel will be released. He really wasn't in a place of choice but he was determined to not lose Sky again. The heavyset woman looked up at him. She sucked her teeth and let out a sigh in annoyance.

"What was the name again sir? She asked. She really didn't care what was going on or  who he was looking for. It was just her job so she did what she was suppose to do.

"Sky Patel" He said more annoyed at the receptionist. Kendall heard familiar voices that made him turn around. They were a distance away but he could still hear them.

"Come to Asia damn. You always making someone late." Diamond said pulling her sister's arm. She knew her sister didn't want to be here. Diamond felt like she owed it to Lauren to try and put Sky away for her murder.

"Diamond I don't want to do this. This has nothing to do with us. We need to go home." Asia said. She stopped in her tracks and began to cry. She couldn't figure out why Diamond wanted to do this. Sky never did anything to her so she thought this was pointless.

Kendall watched how both girls went back and forth. He remembered them from that day. He was so deep in thought that he didn't hear the receptionist calling him.

"Excuse me sir. Sir? Hello sir?" She said.

"I'm sorry ma'am. When will she be released? He responded.

"There's no information I can provide to you at this time. I'm sorry sorry sir." She stated.

Kendall smiled and thanked the woman. He walked out the police station and headed to back to his house to call Mike and Ron. He wanted to find out as much information on those girls as he could.

Diamond and Asia walked into the interrogation room. Asia was still crying and her sister became more frustrated by the minute. She shot Asia a look saying "shut up." Asia tried her hardest to stop crying but she couldn't. She wish her sister would just stop and think about what she's doing.

"Hello ladies. As you know I'm Detective Benson." He said. "This will be real easy ladies. This is a two way mirror, you can see them but they can't see you. Take your time ladies no rush." Detective Benson continued.

Asia stood there with a blank stare. She looked at Sky standing there and she began to cry harder. She didn't want to do this but she had no choice. Diamond was always the one that was in control. As far as she could remember Diamond was the one who made all the decisions. Asia stood there staring into the mirror.

She remembered when she was 12 and she had witnessed her sister murder her mother. It took her back to that time where she had tired her hardest to forget. Now here she stood in the same predicament 6 years later.

"Asia tell your fast ass sister to get in the house." Yelled Monica. Asia was in her room watching tv. She was the one who always obeyed their mother because she was the older of the two and didn't want to get beaten. Asia got up from the bed and headed to the door. She had so much potential but everyone confused her for her sister.

"Okay mama" She responded. She walked outside and seen Diamond with Lauren. Someone she knew who was trouble. They were talking to this big time dope king named Ace. Asia had to admit that he was attractive but she wanted more to life than to be a wife to a dope king. She headed towards their way and dreaded even coming outside.

Diamond noticed her twin sister approaching her. She rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth. She envied Asia because she was smart and had a head on her shoulders. Diamond was the gold digging type and was about fast money. She made Asia's childhood a living hell but she didn't care.

"What do you want Asia? Asked Diamond with annoyance in her voice.

"Nothing at all but mama wants you to come in the house." She responded. She looked at Ace who was staring at her the whole time. Asia rolled her eyes and looked back at her sister.

"Tell that bitch I'm not coming. I can't stand her ass. She thinks that can control me. I hate her and her crack headed boyfriend." Diamond yelled.

Lauren started laughing. "Diamond you crazy. You better get in the house before your mama come out here and beat you." She said still laughing.  She turned to Ace who looked disgusted about the whole situation.

"Fuck that bitch she ain't nothing but a hoe." Diamond responded. She started laughing and turned to Ace and said "I'm sorry but my mama think she can run me. I ain't having that shit." He stood there quite. He wasn't with the drama and disrespect.

"This shit ain't cool D. I can't fuck with you. I thought you were different but I see you ain't nothing but a little girl who like to take life for granted." Ace responded. He got in his car and drove off.

This pissed off Diamond she pushed Asia out of her way and ran all the way in the house. Lauren and Asia was right behind her. "Where you at, you hoe." She screamed while walking into the house. She ran towards her mother's bedroom where she found her and her boyfriend sleep. She went through her mother's dresser and found her .38. She shot her mother at close range.

"Diamond please. Just stop its not worth it. Lauren please tell her to stop." Said Asia looking at Lauren. Lauren just stood there lost for words. She couldn't believe she just witnessed her best friend shoot her own mother. Diamond wiped the gun clean and put it in her mother's boyfriends hand. She shot him to make it seem like it was a murder-suicide. This was the day that they all vowed to never tell what happened to anyone.
