The Reigning Sky

CHAPTER 12

Kendall raced downtown to the police station. He didn't like that his cousin was being interrogated by the police. He called Jay but it went straight to voicemail. Ken finally reached the station. One place he dreaded going into.

Fernando Blake entered the room where Detective Benson was awaiting their arrival. He and Sky took a seat while Detective Benson got straight to business. "Hello Mr. Blake. I called your client down here because she was pointed as the shooter in a murder investigation." He said taking a sip of his coffee. "We all know how this will go Mr. Blake. We will prosecute her, she will not get away with this."

Fernando sat there smiling. He knew Detective Benson for a while now. He can easily get Sky of this murder case. "You know this won't happen. Let's go through with this line up Detective. I'm sure my client is innocent in all this." Fernando stated.

"I'll give you and Ms. Patel some time to talk." Detective Benson said exiting the room.

"I don't know how you're going to get me out of this" Sky said in a whisper.

Fernando took a deep breath and said "Sky I've worked with your family for years. I consider you as a daughter. I will get you out of this. You must tell me what you know about Jayceon Carter. I know my daughter died but I need more information on him."

Sky sat their confused but she wanted more information about him. She nodded her head. "Yes, but how do you expect me to do that. He barely even talks to me."

"Sky your a beautiful girl and I know you can find some way. Please understand this is a business proposal. Nothing more or nothing less." Fernando stated. Just then there was a knock on the door and Detective Benson walked in.

"We're ready for this line up. Please come with me." He said motioning them to another room. They headed inside where Sky and seven other girls lined up. They looked similar to each other but Sky stood out the most. She stood there wondering who could possible be the witnesses.
