The Reigning Sky

CHAPTER 8

Mike rushed to Kendall's place once he heard what happened to Lauren. He was in love with her that was his heart. He banged his hands in his steering wheel. "Fuck" he yelled. He wanted to kill the person who did it. It didn't matter who it was, in his eyes they were dead.

"Calm the fuck down. Word in the street is that bitch Sky killed her. You know you gonna have go through Kendall to get to her." Said Ron who was sitting in the passenger seat. Mike just looked at him as if he was crazy. He couldn't believe that Sky killed Lauren. He had to find out for himself.

"Yo Ken where the fuck you at? Jay yelled walking in his apartment. He didn't know what was going on but he kept receiving phone calls from Mike saying someone shot his girl. He walked to the kitchen and was surprised to see Sky. "What's up ma, how you doing." He greeted her. Sky was silent and smiled at him.

BANG BANG BANG... They heard someone banging at Ken's door. Kendall grabbed his .45 Sky just used to kill Lauren and headed towards his front door. Jay was right behind him with his pistol in hand. BANG BANG BANG. The person continued to bang on his door. "What the fuck." He thought. He continued to his front door and heard Mike's voice.

"YO OPEN UP KEN. I KNOW YOU IN THERE." Yelled Mike. Ron grabbed his arm letting him know to calm down. Mike shot him a look. "I ain't gonna kill the bitch. I just wanna know why she did it." Mike said. Ron shook his head. He just knew that Kendall was going to kill his best friend.

Ken opened his door and pointed his gun. "If you try any funny shit. I'm gonna kill your ass right here." He said letting him and Ron in. They walked back to the kitchen where Sky was. Jay was behind them and Ken in front of them. Everyone was quiet. Sky didn't know what to say but she knew she had to come up with something quick. She sighed and looked at four men in front of her.

"I-I I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me." She began. Tears started to form in her eyes and she quickly wiped them away. "Lauren was my best friend. I loved her like a sister." She lied. "Ya'll don't know what I went through with her. She was pushing me to my limit. Mike you know how she could be. She was using you and that nigga Rico." She said walking towards him. She was now face to face with Mike. "They planned on killing you. That's why I was in shock at the club. Lauren wanted you dead but I didn't think she was that crazy to actually go ahead with it." She continued. He was staring in her eyes and became lost in them. He took a deep breath and stepped back.

"What the fuck. You really killed that crazy bitch?" Asked Ron. He couldn't help but laugh. Everyone one was silent but Ron was laughing so hard that he had tears coming out his eyes. "Ahh man. This shit is funny. Mike I don't even know why you mad. That bitch was a hoe bro. I even fucked her." He said wiping his eyes. Mike looked at him. He walked up to him and punched him in his jaw. Kendall and Jay grabbed each one of them.

"Yo I'm gonna let you have that nigga. I know you loved that hoe ass bitch but remember we family." He yelled. "Man get the fuck off me. I'm out." He continued. He walked out the kitchen towards the front door mean mugging Mike. Mike had his jaw clenched. Sky walked up to him and consoled him. His chest was heaving up and down but he wouldn't let anyone see him cry. He brushed past Sky and left.

"Sky." Kendall called out. She looked at him for a split second. "I want you to be honest with me. I won't get mad at you for telling me the truth." He said. She knew what he was about to ask her and she wasn't ready answer it. She walked out of the kitchen. She sat in the living room with tears running down her face. "Sky I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you. I just have to know." He said holding her close to him

"Ken, what is it that you want to know." She said between sobs. She hadn't cried in so many years. She didn't cry at her parents funeral or when she had to go live with her grandfather. She sat up and looked at Kendall. They had the same green eyes, same complexion and nose structure. She analyzed his face. He looked just like her father. Their father; something she needed the answer to. She needed to know if he knew. She sat there waiting for him to respond.

He took a deep breath before speaking. "Sky do you know who killed Uncle Raj?" He asked. With that question she knew he didn't know. He looked into her eyes and said "I need to know Sky. The same person killed my father. Once you went with Dadaji (grandfather) Rakesh we tried to find out who killed Uncle Raj. We never found who it was." Kendall was upset and he never talked about his family but he needed to know.
