Chapter 27: Confronting Raegar

"Mom? Mom?" said a voice. Carla's eyes slowly opened as she sees Luna and Leo. "Luna? Leo? What happened? Where are we?" she asked. She looks at her hands and sees her suit gone, leaving her with her tank top and pants. "We're in the cave. Scarr knocked you out cold and took all of us." explained Luna. "Where's your father?" asked Carla. "He's not here. They left him." said Leo. Carla sat up and saw her in the cell with the kids and Nyko. She sees Kate and Humphrey in the cell next to them. "You guys alright?" asked Kate. "We're fine." said Carla. "Well, well, looks who up." said a voice as Carla turned and saw Scarr. "Had a nice nap, sunflower?" she asked. "What do you want with us?" asked Carla. "Well...that's for the boss to decide." Scarr replied. "Raiders!!" shouted a voice. Everyone turned to a cave and out came the demented physcopath, Raegar. The raiders would then perform a chant before Raegar raised his hands, slowly silencing them. "What do we have here, Scarr?" asked Raegar. "We got ourselves another pack. Some call them the Nightwolves." said Scarr. "The Nightwolves. I was wondering when you would show up. Where's their leader?" asked Raegar. "Never came across him. Probably dead." said Scarr. Raegar sighed. "Do you know anything about the Nightwolves and their leader?" asked Raegar. "Not that I heard." Scarr replied. "Their leader is known as the Mythic Wolf. He's been a pain in my ass for so many years. Ruining my plans and heists. But now that he's back, he's probably stronger than before." said Raegar. "Chris and I had never seen him before. He must be talking about Malcolm!" said Carla in her thoughts. "Hey boss. We have another scientist here. Must have an affiliation with the other two." said a raider as they bring in Mei. "Ah perfect. Put her in the cell with the others and have her finish the machine." said Raegar. "What machine?" asked Mei. "A device that'll change the fate of this forest. Either you fix it or we'll have you killed." warned Raegar. Knowing she didn't have a choice, she was then escorted to the cell. "As for the rest of you, I hope your all comfortable. Because your going to be here for a looong time." said Raegar as he chuckled. "We'll see." said Carla silently.

*Meanwhile at the NSA*

Chris, Vi and Michael were in a debrief room with other supers including Voyd, Krushauer, He-Electrix, Reflux and Brick. "Alright everyone, listen up! We got a huge task to accomplish. My family and pack were captured by a gang of raiders, led by a treacherous being known as Raegar. We believe he is up to something that could make him more dangerous than ever. Which is why we need to act fast. I already know the whereabouts of their location and scouted the area before, which means we have the advantage." said Chris. "Alright Chris, what's the plan?" asked Michael. "They're gonna be expecting company. So they'll be on high alert. We'll have to have to split in three teams. Team 1 - Violet, Michael and I will infiltrate the base and prepare for the assault but we'll need to take care of the goons at the entrance outside the cave. That's when Team 2 comes in, Voyd, you and your group will take them out and gain us entry. Once we're inside, we'll distract Raegar and his goons long enough for Team 3 to come in and we'll launch a surprise attack. Any questions?" asked Chris as no one responds. "Alright. Let's suit up!" said Chris as the supers dispersed. As Chris prepared, he sat on a chair, thinking about his family. "I hope your keeping each other safe, Carla." he said. "Chris?" said a voice. Chris would turn his head as he sees his old friend, Rose. "Rose, hey!" he replied as the two hugged. "Look at you. In a brand new suit! How've you been?" asked Chris. "I've been great. My dad recently got out and now he's living a better life." said Rose. She then takes notice of Chris's forearm. "Oh my gosh, what happened to your arm?" she asked in surprise. "It's a....long story." said Chris. "Got it. So how's it going with Carla?" asked Rose. "Well, other than her being captured. We were doing just fine with our kids until Raegar and his goons captured them." Chris replied. "Oh! You have kids?" said Rose in surprise. "Yup. A daughter named Luna and a son named Leo." said Chris. "Would love to meet them sometime. Plus we can reconnect a bit after what's happened." said Rose. "Sounds good." said Chris. Violet then approached them. "Chris, everyone's ready." she said. "Alright. Let's roll everyone!!" said Chris as they all head to the forest.
